In Calle de Calderes stands the Lleona of Girona, a sculpture atop a Romanesque-style column dating from the 12th century. Over time, kissing and touching the Lleona’s ass has become a propitiatory gesture for people entering or leaving Girona. As a popular saying goes:
He is not a good citizen of Girona who has not kissed the Lleona’s ass.

Rispa is a craft beer brand born and brewed in Girona, Catalonia, deeply connected to the city’s stories, myths, and identity.
The beer is produced inside Hotel Palau Fugit, an 18th-century palace and member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
Using local ingredients, the hotel’s brewmaster crafts each recipe in the Rispa laboratory, located just across from Palau Fugit.
The project was developed by the agency Firma who commissioned me to create a series of 10 original illustrations, one for each beer style (Rice Beer, Pilsner, Blanche, Tripel, American IPA, Fruited Berliner Weisse, Marzen, Session IPA, Imperial Stout).
Each illustration interprets a myth or legend from Girona, transforming figures from local folklore into the icons of the beer labels.
Through an evocative and symbolic illustrative language, legends take shape and become identity: each bottle is not just a beer, but a story.
