⭕ El cáncer de pulmón es el tumor que más muertes causa en España, por encima de la suma de mama, colon y páncreas.
🗣️Su incidencia baja en hombres, pero sube con fuerza en mujeres, incluidas no fumadoras y empieza a aumentar en menores de 50 años.
👩‍⚕️🧑‍⚕️ Como recuerda Bartomeu Massutí: “Somos el país europeo en el que más ha aumentado este tumor en mujeres en los últimos años”.
‼️ El 56% de los casos se detecta tarde, ya en fases avanzadas.
👉 Aun así, las nuevas terapias dirigidas e inmunoterapia están mejorando la supervivencia y la calidad de vida.

Antibiotic-resistant infections are one of the fastest-growing threats to global health.

When antibiotics are overused or inappropriately prescribed, diseases can become resistant to them. In the long term, this could mean that we are no longer able to effectively treat illnesses that are currently routine.

This is why it is so important for antibiotics to be prescribed only when necessary and supported by clinical evidence.

New OECD research shows that on average, 16 defined daily doses (DDDs) of antibiotics per 1 000 people were prescribed across OECD countries in 2023 – a slight reduction from 17 DDDs per 1 000 in 2013. Yet more effort is needed to ensure their appropriate use.

In the EU, we’re working hard to eradicate it, including through:
🔹 Stronger support and protection for survivors, with more shelters, 24/7 helplines, and easier ways to report abuse safely
🔹 Awareness and prevention campaigns focusing on consent, early intervention, and empowering bystanders to act safely
🔹 EU-wide laws that criminalise female ge***al mutilation, forced marriage, cyber-abuse
🔹 Binding commitments to prevent violence, protect victims, and hold offenders accountable through the Istanbul Convention

Violence against women is not inevitable. It is preventable.
