Today is a special day, as I get to show you what I have been working on for a couple of weeks: the first ever Hic Svnt Dracones piece put to cloth (with no band affiliation, whatsoever). This piece is a personal adaptation of the tragic story of Deirdre an Bhróin, one of the most prominent feminine figures in Irish mythology, whose sad tale of a life rid with terror, fear and oppression, also speaks volumes about dignity, love and resilience and the capability of re-writing your fate, to never cease finding ways of being free from the shackles of someone else's will, even if it means dying by your own hand.
As an eager reader of the various Irish foundational epics, Deirdre's story is a moving one, be it the one contained within the Ulster Cycle, or the re-tellings of W.B. Yeats, George William Rusell or the reworked version of James Macpherson, titled "Dar-Thula" (included in his well known "Poems of Ossian"), upon which the illustration that is the centerpiece of this collage is based.
It will only be available in Black Ink over Beige/Bone White T-Shirts (and yes there will be fitted sizes for the girls and anyone else who wants to wear them) in the highest screen-printed quality, at the price of 16 euros (also, the collage will be available in A3 and A4 prints if anyone wants it)
I will be making only 30 of these , for which the preorder opens now (It'll last up until November 30th).
