LA VASCA

The Spring Summer 2020 collection of BETOLAZA explores the roots of its Creative Director, the Basque Country.

“I was inspired by the beauty of my home, the Basque Country. A land full of contrasts, modern and traditional, city and countryside, sea and mountains.
Roots are all we are. I was inspired by the green mountains that surrounded my grandparents home where my childhood memories are, the orange sunset light bathing the wheat fields, old women dressed in black and the hands of a bask fishermen playing with the ship ropes early in the morning when everybody is still asleep”.

The collection is predominantly black with hints of orange, pink and white. Special prints are inspired by the basque fishermen and basque sculptor Chillida.

"PatternPrintsPaper Tailerra" - Maiatzak 18, 12-14h - Kontenporanea, Irun.

Datorren maiatzaren 18an, Irunen ospatuko den Kontenporanea izeneko arte garaikidearen topaketan estanpazioaren inguruko tailer bat emateko gonbitea luzatu didate. Tailerrak "block print" teknika izango du oinarri eta honez gain rapport bat nola eraiki azalduko da. Azkenik, bertan sortutako motiboak errepikatuz, estanpatu bat sortuko dugu paper gainean.

He recibido la invitación para dar un taller sobre estampación manual dentro del programa , encuentro de arte contemporáneo de Irún, que se celebrará el próximo 18 de mayo. El taller estará enfocado a la creación de un rapport y su posterior estampación a través de la técnica "block print". Finalizaremos el taller estampando el motivo creado hasta conseguir un estampado continuo.
