Is anyone else fed up with weird, fake stories coming up in their newsfeed? Tall tales most likely written by AI and used for clickbait or worse.
Be aware, my friends! Don't click the links on every story you read, check the source page if the title is something you've never heard of, it's probably "entertainment" garbage.
Please don't share anything that seems strange to you without doing a little googling first... Just take a sentence out of the text and see what comes up... Leave out the names! You'll be surprised at how many other names show up with the same sentence around them.
I recently made the stupid mistake of sharing from a dubious source without verifying first, only once... Don't do it! FB will penalize you for it!
You will find a lot of this crap on YouTube as well; videos with a picture of two people and some AI voice narrating a story about a conflict that never happened.
On YouTube, if you look at the channel's description, you will see that it is for entertainment purposes. This is often left out of the video's description, so people who don't look closely at this tend think these things are real... Until they learn to spot the fakes.
These stories and videos are quite often about an imaginary conflict between a politician and a celebrity... Don't play the game! Divisive clickbait is not a healthy thing to follow.
That said, these stories are sometimes about heroic efforts that never happened either... Be wary of both.
If you want to do your part, report the page and report the fake posts, videos, etc... same on YouTube and Instagram... Report! Report! Report!
There's nothing wrong with reading fiction, but it shouldn't be presented to you as fact.
