'Tis that time of the year before Christmas when I happily help the Lethisaari School/Daycare! I'm happy to present my latest creation, which is mainly addressed to Parents and their Children in the Helsinki region and bordering cities 🙂

The Lehtisaari School/Daycare is organizing a Christmas Sale on Saturday, 23.11.2023, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. There will be a traditional gingerbread house auction, a fishing game for children, a raffle, and a coffee stand.

Save the date, and feel free to join! The event will take place at Papinpöydänkuja 10, 00340, Helsinki.

Hello, my cyber-followers!

Before I kickstart my summer holiday (from July 8 to July 28), I would like to keep you in the loop with my last project up to this date 😎

Recently, I've been pouring my heart and soul into a project for the Finnish Melodic Black/Death Metal Apoleia.

I crafted their website to help them promote their first single, "𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗽𝘆" (https://bit.ly/Apoleia_FtE, released on May 10, 2024) and their debut EP, "𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗼𝘁" (https://bit.ly/Apoleia_SoR, released on June 28, 2024), both available on major streaming platforms. Aldo yu design is the talented designer behind both artworks and video visualizers.

This project has also been an excellent opportunity to learn, play around and improve my (Black/Death Metal-oriented) UI/UX design and coding skills with CSS Grids and GreenSock's awesome plugins (ScrollTo and ScrollTrigger) to implement way better code sustainability, layout responsiveness, and features such as the ScrollSpy navigation, CSS Grids and subgrids.
The website also has a light and dark mode, which adjusts from your device/browser settings.

Thanks to you, Jukka Hallikainen, for your music and the awe-inspiring collab'. I'm ever grateful to you and Apoleia for enabling us to extend our ventures… to the final redemption and beyond!

At last, I'm excited to share my project with Nora Huuska, M.D. Ph.D., on her dissertation and defense presentation: "𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘆𝘀𝗺 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗔𝗺𝘆𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗔, 𝗟𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗡𝗲𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧-𝗟𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗰𝘆𝘁𝗲𝘀".

This project was fantastic as Dr. Eliisa Netti, M.D., Ph.D., of Helsinki University Hospital, recommended me. Nora provided high-quality materials and cover images. One of the covers resonated deeply in me with its organic and futuristic elements, akin to Metroid Prime—a favorite game of mine—shaping Nora's book and presentation. After that, I drew inspiration from her research, medical literature and sci-fi aesthetics (UIs, HUDs, progress bars, …).

*** 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘𝗦 ***
Except for the custom font (https://bit.ly/BeTIslam), I designed the book layout, enhanced graphs, crafted her presentation, and recorded a 4K video of her PowerPoint.
This project was a rewarding challenge! It seamlessly blended Nora's academic rigor with modern design and sci-fi influences, effectively highlighting her groundbreaking contributions to neurosurgery and biomedicine.

*** 𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗔'𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗕𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 ***
Nora's thesis advances our understanding of inflammation, immune response, and vascular degeneration in saccular intracranial aneurysms, promising transformative impacts.

While working on my next big project (spoiler alert: another medical book and presentation), I'm happy to present my latest creation, which is mainly addressed to Parents and their Children in the Helsinki region and bordering cities 🙂

The Lehtisaari school and daycare is organizing a Vappu (May Day) event on Thursday, 25.04.2024, from 04.00 A.M. to 05.00 P.M.

There will be a balloon sale, face painting for children, munkit (Finnish donuts), and sima.

Save the date, and feel free to join! The event will take place at Papinpöydänkuja 10, 00340, Helsinki.

Note: I was asked to design this poster as my little boy attends the Lehtisaari daycare, and my wife is part of the Parent Association. I had so much fun creating both this poster and this custom-made stand!
More importantly, getting the posters printed and putting them (and the stand) on display at the Lehtisaari school and daycare, in the buildings where we live, and in the shops was also a pleasure to help while starting to get into the spirit of this coming Vappu!

After some time, here's an update for one of my last projects: another medical book with a public defense presentation!

Recommended by her supervisor, Docent Ilkka Ilonen, M.D., Ph.D, from the Department of General Thoracic And Esophagal Surgery at the Helsinki University Hospital, I was honored to collaborate with Sandra Uoti, M.D., Ph.D. student—on her doctoral dissertation book and public defense presentation: "𝗭𝗲𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗺: 𝗘𝗽𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀".

As I read her doctoral dissertation and created her book, I better understood Sandra Uoti's field, work, exceptional talent, drive, openness, and personality. This understanding enabled me to produce high-quality work for her book and presentation to help her with her public defense.
After attending her defense, which she brilliantly delivered to Professor Stephen Cassivi, M.D., M.S., from the Mayo Clinic (Minnesota, USA), I have come to believe even more in her expertise and book and how they would significantly contribute to science, surgery, and healthcare.

Except for Illustrations by 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗸𝗮 𝗞𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗻 and 𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻, I designed and laid out the complete book, vectorized and improved many graphs and illustrations, and created the PowerPoint presentation required by my client to support her work.

Hello, there… Following my post on April 8th, here's another project I'm revealing to you!

This project is the first book I've ever created: a medical Ph.D. book for my client—Ella Kohva, M.D., Ph.D. student—on the subject of her Doctoral Dissertation, "𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝘅 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆". She defended her thesis at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Helsinki on April 29th, 2022.

Except for the cover (created by Sanna Hellikki), I designed and laid out the complete book, improved many graphs and illustrations, and improved the PowerPoint presentation required by my client to support her work.

Good news, everyone! I am excited to announce that the Jeeves Computer Repair - Leighton Buzzard's new website is online!

The website has been revamped with a more modern design, new functionalities, and optimized for fast loading on different devices.

It's been one of the most exciting projects I've ever worked on! I am grateful to James Reeves for our collaboration and the opportunity to have my business improve his company's website and my skills with graphic design (flat and 3D isometric vector illustrations), UX/UI design, front-end development, and Cross-DOB* testing and compatibility.

Hello, my cyber-followers! 😎 I was a real busy bee for the past months, and I got several projects coming to light very soon! The first is about Jeeves Computer Repair, an iPhone and computer repair company based in the UK that I have worked with remotely since 2016.

I, too, am proud to announce it is close to completion and soon to be released into cyberspace! 🤘

On December 27th, 2021, my business will operate from Lehtisaari at Hiidenkiukaantie 3 E 45, 00340, Helsinki, Finland.

Though I work remotely and as my address will have changed, I am still available to meet in person in Helsinki and will be also available to meet directly in the Espoo area as of January 2022.
