🚨 Drama alert, drama alert! 🚨
Two new people have joined Drama Queen’s Helsinki office!

Say hello to our wonderful Drama Academy Project Management trainee Maisa Vehkakoski and PR and Media Communications trainee Miia Martikainen!

As always, we had to ask: what does creating drama mean to you?

Maisa: ”I perceive drama as something relative to different forms of art. It’s something that sparks discussion, shakes things up, and questions the way we see certain matters. In a sense, by stirring emotions, drama brings new perspectives to issues (and brands) that could otherwise go unnoticed.”

Miia: ”To me, drama means highlighting and paying attention to the small but mighty details. Finding the important in the seemingly unimportant is super rewarding and to me is in the core of media communications. In short, drama gives any written mode of communication (and life!!) this sparkly, bubbly and exciting quality!"

Give a warm welcome to our Drama Academy trainees! 💖

It’s a new day, it’s a new Queen – and we’re feeling good. Let’s say hello to Ben Alasuvanto, our new Senior Art Director!

Ben brings a mixed array of creative skills as well as international perspectives and experience from working in advertising in four different countries in two different continents.

”What I love most about the creative industry is when you strike gold with a unique insight and you get to create something never-before-seen and surprising that serves a business purpose.”

As a tradition, we must ask: Ben, what does creating drama mean to you?

”For me, creating drama means creating something that evokes feelings in an audience. Why does it matter in a business context? Well, if your advertising doesn't awaken any feelings or thoughts, you might want to think twice about spending money on advertising at all.”

Welcome to Drama Queen, Ben! 👑

Celebrating all kinds, shapes and sizes of women with Pola 👑

Drama Queen had the pleasure of giving a glow-up to Pola, a beloved Finnish brand that has dressed women for nearly 100 years.

Today, owned by Tokmanni, the brand was ready for its next chapter: connecting with a new generation while staying true to what makes it special.

The rebrand brings a sharper visual identity and a clearer voice – from logo to tone, messaging and a new slogan – now rolling out across Tokmanni stores nationwide.

At the heart of Pola is what matters most: Finnish design, clothes that feel good, look beautiful and fit real women.

What’s not to love? 🩷

Finding your own voice? Important. But not always the point.

The real question is: whose voice are you writing in? Because sometimes the job is to set yours aside – and step into your client’s.

In our latest Daily Drama, Creative Lead Annika Ohtonen explores why “finding your voice” might be overrated, and what actually matters instead.

Humble brag of the week! ✨

Our luxury hospitality client, Hideout Villas, is part of the 2026 “Everyone Wins” Oscar Nominee Gift Bag – and we got to design the package, woooop! 🥳 The gift bag is hand-delivered to this year’s 25 Oscar nominees, including Kate Hudson, Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn, to name a few. As part of the gift bag, nominees are invited to experience a private luxury stay in Finnish Lapland, with curated Arctic experiences and of course the chance to chase the Northern Lights.

What makes this super exciting is the global media attention. Several major international medias including The Sun, New York Post and Cosmopolitan have already featured the story and there’s more to come.

Now we just need to wait to see:
Who wins what?
Who wears what?
Who’s coming to Finnish Lapland?

“We’re here to make ads, not art.”

Marketing loves its own truths. They sound reasonable. Responsible. Safe. But are they truths, or just excuses?

In the latest Daily Drama, our Creative Lead Kai Seppänen questions the mantras we hide behind. Maybe the problem isn’t art – Maybe it’s fear.

Who never gives up and is encouraging, warm, and effective? Our Senior Project Manager Mirkka Varho 😍

Mirkka’s days are a mix of all kinds of new challenges, industries, and people. Just the way she likes it. She’s known not only for her hardworking attitude, but also for her love of dancing and her habit of constantly dreaming about her next trip.

You’ll often find Mirkka in the landscapes of Lapland, which are especially close to her heart. She relaxes in nature, walking along forest trails and snacking by a campfire. 💫

Mirkka reveals that her guilty pleasures include popcorn, sparkling wine, red nails, and true crime podcasts. What we want to reveal is that she’s someone who loves putting things in order and delivering top-quality results, even under a bit of pressure. Mirkka is truly kind-hearted and highly organized professional. ❤️

Her life motto says it all: “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”

Celebrating meaningful drama that truly matters 💙

Päivä pyörätuolissa / A Day in a Wheelchair, the campaign Drama Queen created together with Jalostaja, has been shortlisted at the SPOT Awards in the Influencer Campaign of the Year category.

Starring Leo-Pekka Tähti and Joel Harkimo, the campaign shines a light on Jalostaja’s long-term commitment to supporting para sports, inviting everyone to roll into a new perspective.

The documentary, produced together with Koju, reminds us that an accessible everyday life often depends on the small details – and that those details can create big impact.
