Koponen+Hildén turns 10 today!
Here are a few highlights from across the years:
2015. The first ever invoice sent to a client – to Otava for work we did for the Manner series of geography textbooks
2016. We participated in a Prime Minister’s Office pilot for quick turnaround visualization projects. Tieto näkyväksi, the original Finnish edition of Data visualization handbook, was published.
2017. We created an interactive visualization tool for Kuopio-based science startup Metabold.
2018. Our first employee, Laura, joined the team. Our data art work, Patterned Rocks, was installed at Kontula metro station.
2019. Coastline Paradox with artists Pekka Niittyvirta and Timo Aho was published by Google Arts & Culture. Our book Data visualization handbook came out.
2020. We created data visualization learning datasets for Sage, learning a lot in the process ourselves as well.
2021. We collaborated with Ateljé Sotamaa on the exhibition graphics for the visitor center at Lounavoima waste-to-energy plant.
2022. Something quite different: among other things, we created design templates for Helsingin Levypuristamo vinyl pressing plant!
2023. We taught many workshops for PhD students, professionals, and others.
2024. We were chosen as the primary infographics provider for the City of Helsinki! Oh, and we won the Graphic Designer of the Year award.
2025. What’s next? We’ll see! Many interesting projects are already lined up for the new year, but we are always interested in working with new clients and on new projects.
So, happy new year and don’t hesitate to be in touch if you think you might have use for a small but experienced and versatile team of information designers!
