Today more than 4 000 Hidex precision instruments are at service in leading laboratories worldwide as well as in some of the hardest conditions on the planet. Jungles and deserts, oil platforms and ocean-going vessels – even submarines are no challenge for Hidex instruments. With our customers we improve the research of medicine, safety of nuclear industry, sustainability of the environment and purity of our food and water supplies.
Now we are looking to strengthen our R&D team in Turku with a Senior Mechanical engineer
We are seeking for a team member to create mechanical designs for our new analytical instruments and improve our existing product portfolio. In this role you will also do product concepting during project initialization phase. You will take care of product documentation and provide content for user manuals and marketing. As a team member you support procurement, manufacturing, testing and assembly during product creation process. You will be involved in improving the research of medicine, safety of nuclear industry, sustainability of the environment and purity of our food and water supplies.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Technical degree, for example M.Sc. or B.Sc. in mechanical or automation engineering
Solid experience in mechanical design and knowledge of mechatronics engineering
Experience in 2D/3D tools (we use SolidWorks)
Knowledge of production and manufacturing techniques: machining, sheet metal, painting/coating, plastic injection molding, casting of metals
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving mindset
Good written and spoken communication skills in English
Excellent cooperation skills
