Next up in our ’Meet the Team’ series, meet Antti, our COO! He’s the driving force behind shaping our operational strategy and ensuring we scale effectively.

Here’s Antti to tell you more in his own words:

”Hi everyone, I’m Antti, COO at Dashboa. I genuinely thrive in our high-growth, ambitious team and environment. A small niche from my background is that I have been an EOD specialist in the military and as a peacekeeper, so pressure handling and resilience are by default quite high. That is one reason why I’m drawn to the dynamic nature of high growth companies like Dashboa. In business I have always been interested in companies that create impact, do things differently, shine in NPS, use the newest technologies and capabilities, that’s Dashboa in its core.

At Dashboa, my focus is on architecting and operating processes that scale seamlessly from ’zero to one, and beyond,’ effectively supporting our expansion into international markets. This role often involves tackling those ’surprise tasks’ that keep things interesting and demand adaptability. Our wide range of existing and new customers from Finland, Europe and even US gives us a superior advantage to develop our digital marketing on autopilot -software solution with AI.

Outside of work, I recharge by spending time with my partner and our new family member, toypoodle, Milo Morris (Who has not seen the office at Finlayson yet). Other than that I’m a firm believer that 1 hour of exercise gives you 2 hours of energy, so I stay active with boxing and various other sports. These pursuits are key to maintaining my balance and bringing focused energy to our fast-paced environment.

Email marketing got just an upgrade from Google! 🚀

Merchant center has now an option that is “opted in” for every merchant account as default, starting from 3.4.2025. The feature will allow Google to extract content from companies newsletters. Content may be (Offers, new products, news, social media) this extracted data will be used in advertisements and places where Google is able to use [Content].

This is another clear step from Google towards more and more AI focused marketing. Today and in the future it is even more important to have up-to-date and quality content in every “surface” of online presence. From emails to social media.

Wasting money on bidding against you?

It is somewhat a common thing to see that a significant amount of conversions are coming from search ads that would be actually uncontested. 🏆

Many of these occasions mean that you are simply the number #1 on search engines, often for your brand word and yet your own sponsored ad will be placed above, creating a wasted ad spend.

An effective way to gain paid conversions is to get them through brand words, lowering your organic traffic but making ROAS look better. However, what would be your customer acquisition cost, without brand words?

Conversion rate and traffic work together, if they are not playing well the outcome is not that great. Often the focus is on driving (high quality) traffic and wondering why the sales are not skyrocketing🚀, the reason is usually that the site is not performing well. There might be critical problems with structure (e.g screen size - scalability issues) or minor things like CTA’s located unsuccessfully. CRO is a key player to identify and fix the issues and allow the 8th wonder to work.

Searching for missing reviews? 😶‍🌫️

This week we have seen that big companies are also capable of having issues with system bugs, or problems that is caused likely by the complexity of their systems. These can be major or minor, but the bigger the company, the bigger the minor problem will be.

Especially some of our Finnish customers have been wondering where did some of their google reviews disappear this week. The reviews are quite a big deal with the search engines and SEO, so no wonder why lots of questions are around!

Why is it important to focus on marketing especially in a market downturn? - It is full of potential, check below 🔥 (CASE: Mars chocolate - Hershey in 1970)

- USA’s biggest candy company Hershey chocolate had not done any actual marketing before 1970. 😅 (Relying on partner sales and in shop location) 🍫

- They had to start marketing (for the first time) to compete against new rival (Mars) and their new brands (Snickers, M&M) & to stay as a market leader. 📺

—> Works great, but commodity prices are high, pressurizing profits —> Board decides to stop marketing because ”profits are down” we can’t be spending and we need to save from where we can. 📉

—> Mars notices the potential to gain most of the brand visibility and increased marketing across the nation & even increased the size of chocolate bars, keeping the price same.🤩

—> Eventually, in 1973, the combined Mars brands,  Snickers, Milky Way, M&M’s, passes Hershey as #1 candy company in America.🥇
