**From Print Pioneers to Sustainability Champions: Redox's Transformative Journey**
Suva, Fiji - December 25, 2023 -Redox, a name synonymous with graphic art in Fiji, has embarked on a remarkable odyssey - evolving from a student-driven printing service to a multi-faceted enterprise championing innovation, sustainability, and social impact. Founded in 2004 by the resourceful duo of Aiaz and Rohini Hamid, Redox's story is one of resilience, resourcefulness, and a steadfast commitment to making a positive difference.
It all began at the University of the South Pacific (USP), where exorbitant printing costs and limited options ignited the young couple's entrepreneurial spirit. "Innovation isn't just about fancy gadgets," Aiaz, inventor of 16 IP products, reflects. "It's about finding simple solutions to everyday problems, like the print demand at USP that sparked Redox. Each invention holds the promise of a brighter future, not just for our business, but for our communities and planet."
Armed with a vision to introduce digital printing and revolutionize the Fijian landscape, they set up shop in the newly built Sports City complex, Laucala Bay. Redox's disruption was immediate. By introducing cutting-edge digital technology when offset production dominated the scene, they catered to the fast-paced needs of businesses and events, establishing themselves as the one-stop solution for graphic art demands. This success paved the way for further diversification, with Redox
incubating ventures like Hungry Dog, Hungry Honchos, Wellness Fiji, Broasters Chicken franchise, Hamid Construction, Redox Refinery, Coffee Farms of Fiji, and Toteally.
Their impact extends far beyond the realm of business, deeply rooted in sectors like environment, agriculture, and social upliftment. Their commitment to sustainability shines through in Sea and Soil, a venture poised to become a "unicorn" company with its carbon-verified seaweed and biochar solutions. "Patents aren't just pieces of paper," Aiaz says. "They're seeds of change. They represent the potential to tackle climate challenges, empower women, and improve lives. They're the stories waiting to be written, etched in seaweed and biochar, whispered by organic farms and thriving villages."
Redox's dedication to social responsibility is evident in initiatives like the Fiji Women Seaweed Prosperity Cooperative, empowering hundreds of women through seaweed farming. One member shares, "Before Redox, seaweed was just something washed ashore. Now, it's my livelihood, my children's education, and my hope for a brighter future. We're weaving stories of resilience and prosperity one strand at a time." The Fiji Islands Sustainable Certified Organic Agriculture Cooperative is another testament to their dedication, supporting organic farmers in combating climate change. "Organic farming wasn't just a trend; it was a necessity," says a farmer. "Redox showed us how to fight climate change with fertile soil and healthy crops. Now, our farms are more than just land; they're testaments to the power of sustainable practices."
Looking ahead, Redox forecasts a 2024 where growing inflation will curb wasteful consumerism and drive demand for their value-for-money products, including biofertilizers, biopesticides, livestock feed, and off-grid water cleaning solutions. Their print products, aligned with a "produce on-demand" philosophy, further emphasize resourcefulness and environmental consciousness. Their $34 million investment in Fiji Organic Agriculture company startup, $2 million capital injection in the industry within the last 2 years, creating direct employment for hundreds of women, speaks volumes about their growth trajectory.
Redox's success transcends mere financial metrics. Their post-COVID-19 portfolio prioritizes social, economic, and environmental benefits, creating a ripple effect that has transformed countless lives and fostered strong community ties. As they head towards a public offering in 2026, they offer investors a lucrative opportunity with a projected return exceeding 12%, secured by carbon market securities. This aligns perfectly with the growing demand for ethical and impactful ventures.
From humble beginnings to a multifaceted force for good, Redox's journey is an inspiration to entrepreneurs and changemakers alike. Their commitment to innovation, sustainability, and social impact paves the way for a brighter future, not just for Fiji, but for the world.
"From print to sustainability," Rohini concludes, "our journey is a canvas painted with innovation, resilience, and the colors of positive change. We believe in the power of 'and' – innovation and sustainability, profit and purpose, growth and community. It's this balance that will unlock a brighter future for all."
