As we approach the end of 2021, we’d like to share our appreciation with everyone who has contributed to the success of our projects and programmes this year.

This year we have been privileged to work with individuals from some of the leading companies and universities around the world as clients, speakers, coaches and partners, providing valuable insights on the world of engineering education, skills for the future and employability. Bringing industry and education together to enable young people worldwide to achieve their potential is at the heart of everything we do at Petrus and we are so grateful and proud of everything we’ve been able to accomplish with your support this year. It’s only one month until we welcome 120 engaged students from around the world to the latest programme from The Global Learning Expedition (https://www.the-global-learning-expedition.com/) series! And to ensure we are as topical as possible in the challenge, we have chosen a subject that has been close to everyone’s hearts over the last few months – this programme is all about !

As a participant you will work in international and interdisciplinary teams to address the challenges we all face in education, the workplace and society as we learn to thrive in the digital world. To help you on your way the programme will include workshops, coaching, team activity and inspirational sessions from some big voices in industry, academia, NGO’s and start-ups including Airbus, Google, Cap Gemini (to name a few). To ensure that everyone can complete the challenge we also welcome back former participants to act as mentors for the teams – who better to share the benefits of the programme!

Universities and companies worldwide responded to the pandemic with resilience and creativity. However, we know that students have missed opportunities to develop employability and intercultural skills beyond the classroom, and explore career pathways.

We’re excited to announce that TWO editions of The Global Learning Expedition on the popular theme ‘Thriving Online’ are now open for registrations. We piloted this highly interactive online experiential learning programme last year with great feedback – 100% of participants to date recommend the programme to others.
Students will address how to go beyond mere survival, and truly thrive online in education, in working life and in our communities, all the while ensuring that our unique planet is thriving too! The best teams from each edition will present at a global academic conference later in the year.

In 2020 together with our partners - the Global Engineering Deans Council and McMaster Engineering - successfully delivered the biggest to date. The event brought together engineering education leaders from around the world with senior executives from leading industrial and technology companies in a unique, interactive format.

Today i'm giving a shout out to Adrian, our ace Graphic Designer who is so new to that I don't think he has even seen the inside of our office. With a 10 word brief he came up with this graphic which sums up literally hours & hours of discussion between very smart people in all corners of the globe. Just announced! are gearing up for the next exciting edition of our popular Global Learning Expedition: Thriving Online! Between 25-28th September 2020, we’ll be bringing together engaged students, recent graduates and future leaders around the world for innovation and skills development. Today we wrapped up the with four brilliant presentations from the student teams. This week has also been a voyage of discovery for , as we took our existing successful programmes fully online. This didn't phase Razvan, Head of Digital & Design: ‘... as always, good planning, teamwork and communication ensured a successful event, and now we have many more ideas to develop our future online events further.' We can't wait!
