👁️‍🗨️Our ARLES OFF exhibition two weeks ago curated by artist and mentor Diana Lui during this year’s 7-month masterclass The art of centering your eye « Cartographies of the Body and Inherited Landscapes » with ARLES OFF Festival OFF Arles at the gallery Belle Beau + Bon PIA CAMILLA COPPER (merci à J.BATIFOL [MANIFESTE ÆSTHETHIC]).])..
Artists/photographers presented are :
- « Photogénie du sénonais » by Katie Cotellon Katie.C Visual Artist of Franco-Guadeloupean origin on the Anthropocene landscape carved by intensive agriculture and how we impose our personal esthetic sense of belonging as a form of poetic resistance and resilience.
- « Beautiful Strangers » by Grégory André Greg André originally from the Cévennes treats beauty not as an exceptional quality but as something that becomes visible whenever we choose to look with care. The author still new to the exercise of photography manages to reveal his sense of continuous wonder of « the other“.
- « Indian Summers » by Anila Gill of Franco-Indian origin spans 30 years of visual documentation on her personal archive of India and an evolving meditation on what it means to exist with a bicultural identity as well as the evolutionary transformation of India into the 21st century.
- « Ma famille cactus » by Michèle Demier attempts to reconstruct a fragmented genealogy between her childhood in Morocco and her French origins. Coming « home » to Morocco after several decades of absence, the artist combines family archives with her personal vision of contemporary Morocco to create her own unique family album.

Arles here we come! For its 14th anniversary, Themasterclass.fr presents once again a carefully curated exhibit by this year’s participants entitled “Cartographies of the Body and Inherited Landscapes”. This new exhibition explores the intimate connections between body, memory, territory, and belonging, inviting visitors to reflect on the landscapes that shape personal and collective identities.
Conceived as an installation, it maps the multiple layers of the concept of “geography”: the geography of the self, of cultural and ancestral roots, and of the Earth itself; the surface of the body—its scars, marks, and traces—as a living map, echoing the textures and formations of landscapes viewed from above. Through this dialogue between the microscopic and the cosmic, the exhibition reveals parallels between the human body and the planet, between inner worlds and outer territories.
By theme :
Grégory André —urban scars and tattoos;
Katie Cotellon .photography —Anthropocene landscapes;
Michèle Demier —Moroccan melancholy;
Anila Gill —an eternal return to the India of her childhood;
Diana Lui .lui —mourning a lost identity.
Diana Lui, director and curator for the masterclass will exceptionally be exhibiting together with her young talents this year.

🥁🥁Headlines ! Headlines ! Read all about it!
We are going to Arles soon after 7 months of masterclass finalizing our art projects: long exchanges, discussions, trials and errors, taking calculated risks, investing our time, energy and resources to make our dream projects come to fruition. What satisfaction to see them soon come alive during our exhibition at the beautiful gallery space once again in Arles, Galerie Belle Beau + Bon.
Diana Lui, curator and director of themasterclass.fr will be proudly presenting and exhibiting alongside works at Galerie Belle Beau + Bon by artists and photographers:

🌖 **Constellation of Two Moons** 🌖

Witness a brief celestial encounter between two artists during the Chinese New Year and Ramadan in Georgetown, Penang, a Unesco World Heritage site as and .emma.rose align their lenses for “Constellation of Two Moons.” Curated by .lui during her photo retreat, this pop-up installation captures the ethereal beauty of a moment that’s here today and gone tomorrow.

• Curator’s note: As the world plunges into war we can only be relieved for a brief moment of respite. Art gives us this moment of intentional pause to reflect upon the ephemeral quality of life and its beauty.

Nadia with her Tunisian culture and intimate sensibility to textiles and the stories they tell, weaves for us images of a Georgetown that bring her back to a childhood in Tunisia with each call of prayer, but with that extra magical touch of something « other », the Chinese Lunar Year and Malaysia’s landscape of multicultural diversity.

Emma with her camera and lively imagination as constant companions, sees Penang through her very own rose-tinted glasses. An incorrigible romantic with a fierce love for beauty, she renders her characters timeless through their everyday existences, sprinkling her own light and shadow, creating new stories and narratives
