2023 Broadway Stages’ Arts Residency Award @ Kingsland Wildflowers NOoSPHERE Arts

Open Call for a site-specific installation that will remain on view on the Upper Meadow of the Kingsland Wildflowers rooftop community center throughout the entire outdoor season of 2023.
The installation should be non-intrusive, focus on sustainability, reflect on nature, and take into consideration the mission and vision of the WE ARE NATURE series and the surrounding environment on and around the Kingland Wildlflowers rooftops, and reflect this season’s theme.
The award winner receives $1500 for artist fees, travel costs, art supplies, and all other production expenses. They will also receive curatorial assistance, mentoring from our director of programs, networking opportunities and the chance to present artist talks in alignment with the exhibition.

The Collection welcomes proposals from artists, groups, and collectives to participate in a 12-week residency at the North Sea Observatory (NSO) in Chapel St. Leonards, Lincolnshire, UK. The residency will take place from Monday 31 July to Sunday 22 October 2023. We are interested in proposals from participatory artists who would like to explore the space and the human relationship to the coast, and whose practice centers around community participation
Selected artists, groups, and collectives will receive a single fee of £6,699 for up to 13 weeks, which works out to £231/day. In addition, we are offering a production stipend of up to £2,000 for the creation of new work and materials for workshops. The results of these will be displayed in an exhibition at the end of the 12-week residency. The Collection will manage a budget of up to £1,000 to produce the exhibitions at the NSO and Usher Gallery. Please note that The Collection cannot offer any extra support for accommodation or sustenance.

The ALA Art Prize is seeking submissions for its 2023 edition that explore the concept of "habitat," a multi-dimensional idea and metaphor for an optimal physical and relational environment. Artists are encouraged to investigate the various expressions of habitat, both natural and artificial, as well as its social and cultural implications. Artists are also invited to present an unpublished site-specific project for the ALA headquarters in Naples at the Teatro Mediterraneo of Mostra d'Oltremare.
The winning project will receive a cash prize of € 10,000.00, which will cover the production costs. Additionally, artists will receive a fee of € 2,000.00 for their work, providing financial support and recognition for their efforts.

Faena Art Prize for the Arts

Founded in 2012, the Faena Prize serves as a platform for a continued reflection on the present moment and its irreversible and heterogeneous changing nature. This new edition of the Faena Prize for the Arts will take place for the first time in Miami, a city that has been home to Faena Art’s programming for the past five years. We invite artists across genres, disciplines, and technologies to imagine temporary and site-specific projects to be installed at the Faena Beach. The selected proposal will be presented during Miami Art Week 2022.

Open for international artists across disciplines.

The winning proposal will receive a US $100,000 prize – US $25,000 in unrestricted funds will be awarded directly to the artist, and the remaining US $75,000 will be allocated towards the production of the new commission to be installed temporarily at the Faena Beach during Miami Art Week 2022.

HAS Magazine launches a call for contributions for its 6th issue to be published in January/February 2023.

The goal of HAS Magazine is to discuss pressing topics through the analysis of a wide range of themes in the humanities, the social sciences, and the arts. Conceived as a magazine for the broadest possible range of readers across disciplines and domains of creativity, research and experimentation, HAS offers a space for staging the most enlightening, imaginative, and socially relevant interactions of the humanities and the arts.

HAS Magazine is an initiative of the Humanities, Arts and Society project, chaired by UNESCO-MOST, the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences and Mémoire de l’Avenir. HAS Magazine endorses the goals of UNESCO and CIPSH, as stated in their constitutions, and namely the current sustainability strategy promoted by the BRIDGES programme within UNESCO-MOST.

We welcome contributions from scholars, researchers, critics, artists, and any interested parties who find the above aims important and would like to be part of the project. HAS Magazine is a transdisciplinary publication and texts should be written in a language accessible to a broad, non-discipline/expert audience, while keeping the rigour of conceptual and performative expressions, which will be blind peer-reviewed. HAS is not a commercial venture and is available online for free in English, French and Chinese in order to reach the broadest possible audience. Due to the non-profit nature of the publication, HAS welcomes contributions on a voluntary basis.
The published contributions include essays, reviews, critiques, interviews, artistic projects, video and photo reportages, and news. The editorial committee is constituted by members of UNESCO-MOST, the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences and Mémoire de l’Avenir.
Politically biased or discriminatory content will not be accepted. Promotional or commercial content should be avoided.

The theme of the 6th issue is: Disruption and integration, two vital drivers for the sustainability of any system. We aim to investigate this topic from a multi- and cross-disciplinary perspective—including but not limited to philosophy, history, anthropology, archaeology, literature, sociology, economics, political science, and post-humanities scholarship.

The 2023 edition of transmediale festival will take place at Akademie der Künste Berlin (Hanseatenweg) Akademie der Künste during the first week of February. Proposals to the open call should engage with the festival theme of scale either through the topic or proposed format. The call is open to multiple formats including: algorithms, artworks, bots, discussions, essays, events, experiments, films, lectures, online projects, panels, performances, sound, walks or workshops.

The call is open to artists, researchers, designers, architects, activists (working individually or in collectives) from all disciplines to submit new or existing proposals responding to the festival theme.

Selected applications will receive an artist's fee, travel and accommodation during the festival.
