cafe culture is STRICT in Paris

The majority of cafes in Paris don’t allow laptops, or if they do, they have time limits imposed (for example, if you stay longer than an hour you’ll be required to make another purchase)

It makes sense - I hateeee when people hog tables for hours - but sometimes I do like to get out of the house with my laptop 😬

I’m sharing cafes that felt comfortable and welcoming, and .coffee is one of my favorites

Probably wasn’t a great idea to start this challenge in the holiday season but here’s an update 🙃

I’m at ~$7300 for the month of December 🎄

I’ve had a few people questions on this soooo how to get started in UGC:

1. Create 3 to 6 sample videos for your portfolio. Personally, I like focusing on apps, finance related content (think insurance companies, tax services) and lifestyle, because these tend to be the easiest to film and don’t require physical products. Think greenscreen / talking head - the easiest for beginners.
2. If you’re a new creator - don’t overcomplicate it. Pick a creator you admire, and copy their content and hooks. save viral videos and learn from them. Obviously make everything your own, but this is a great way to learn.
3. Use capcut to film and edit your videos. It’s owned by tiktok, so all the features are the same, and there are so many great features to make your videos look professional, even as a beginner.
4. Create a portfolio. I made mine on canva, and it’s made a huge difference in getting brands to respond to me.

How to find clients:

1. Creator platforms for UGC like Cohley and Aspire are great. For higher paying gigs, try UpWork, Passionfroot, and Backstage.
2. Cold outreach - use chat to create a list of 20 brands, and email or DM them directly.

These men… always keeping me on my toes 🥀

London boy is still in the running, BUT… we’ve never had an exclusivity talk, and I’ve barely heard from him during the holiday craziness.

Americans date differently - I’ve made a few videos about the differences, but one of the main ones is that we don’t jump into exclusivity.

BAGUETTE BOY entered the chat at a wine bar. He overheard me complaining about how there are no good dirty martinis in the city, so he had one made!!! (he knew the bartender) and sent it over.

(It was good but the olives weren’t blue cheese stuffed. So he offered to go buy some at the franprix. Who said modern love is dead??)

He’s equal parts chaotic, lover boy, and sweetheart. On our first date, we talked about our past relationships. He’s never had a traumatic relationship, and it shows.

What happens when we lock in for 3 months straight??

I got a second (third…?) job to pay for my move to Paris, and it’s honestly eating me alive to keep the 3 going.

I want to find out what happens when I go all in on monetizing my content. So far I make money the following ways, but it’s inconsistent (algorithm changes, inconsistent posting, and natural market fluctuations all have an impact):

✨Brand deals $$$
✨UGC deals $$

For day 1, I used to create a digital product. I then used to create a landing page, and created a product description and uploaded it to .ai

Using , I then created an automation to DM people the link - and so far that’s resulted in one sale 🤪

Income streams I want to add:

✨Consulting $$$
✨Creator fund on TikTok $
✨Digital products (budget templates, ebooks, guides) $$
✨Affiliate links and storefronts $
✨Workshops or mini classes (content, budgeting, remote work) $$
✨Substack posts of my diary!! $
✨YouTube ads?? $$

Since its vlogmas and lock in season, for the next 90 days I’m challenging myself to treat this like a real business (instead of a hobby that I only do when I’m inspired). I want to commit to daily posting, pitching myself, building digital products, and testing every income stream I can realistically sustain.

I want to see what happens when I give myself the same effort I give every brand and every employer I’ve ever worked for!!

By the end of these 3 months I want two things: predictable income from content and the flexibility to say no to one (or both!) of my 9 to 5s 🥰
