the loneliness epidemic in 🇫🇷 x 🇺🇸

Yes, third spaces exist in places like NYC. However…

One creator described it as “going to Disneyland and all the rides are closed except for Epcot where you walk around drinking & eating wildly expensive things” (blanking on who this was but if you recognize please tag him)

We have all noticed the shift after 2020… a big part driven by private equity 🫠

In France community + connection feel more centered / part of the cultural fabric here, with FAR MORE low cost & free spaces / events / social services to support that.

Hardest best year of my life! 👇🏼 some bonus tips:

- I would’ve been so depressed if I had lived alone, I don’t think it would’ve made it past the first two months so I’m so grateful for my weird frathouse with 25 other ppl

- don’t come here without a job lined up first

- don’t only hang out with expats. i’m so grateful for my French friends, and they have helped me through so much stuff

My travel hot take is I do not understand the obsession with hyping up airplane food. It’s literally microwave meals in public transit, no matter what service class you are??

Reminder the in addition to food, you can also bring ice through security!
