Experimenting with colour is always fun, especially as we are on the brink of spring… However sometimes experiment can turn into chaos as you can see on my mask here too many colours can dilute the features and the texture of the clay work… I am half disappointed half amazed it’s the first time I’m making a mask that intricate and yet also simultaneously the first time I’m making a mask that colourful and as you can see the two concepts are clashing…

1.the first mask is supposed to be NaBuluku
2. Still deciding between AgoueNaete and MamiWata.
3. A pot in honour of Dambala Weddo.

New mask drop !
I initially designed This masks to be Mami Watta but upon reflection and due to my choice of colours … I think I’ll go for Agoué and Naete. It’s maritime but not deep sea like, it’s romantic but not mermaid like. It’s blue like a teal like a pond and not like an ocean. 🌊

there’s something very endearing and exploring your creativity in the most radical way in the most liberating and suffocating time of humanity. I always thought that you needed to be defined by one medium one colour, and as the days go by I start to think that as long as you find a lot of interest in your world, and that that word makes sense to me then you must use all avenues at your disposal to create that world.
