// BRANDING & WEBSITE CLIENT // We can't tell what 2020 has in store for you and for us, but there's one thing we know for sure: award-winning client Lisa Mohager is stepping into the new year like a Queen!

As the crowned North America Mrs Universe 2019, Lisa will be competing in just a few hours in the Mrs Universe World Final in Guangzhou, China. (We have been swiping through stunning pics of her trip all week and can't wait to see her walk down the stage!)

When we first worked with Lisa in 2014, she had just been featured on VH1's hit show "Tough Love: Co-ed" (spoiler alert: her now-husband Paj Mohager made his proposal on the show! Extra spoiler: you will *love* the proposal video - guaranteed).

In fact, as we wrapped up our first website project together back then, Lisa was busy planning her wedding that was later filmed by TLC's "Say Yes To The Dress Atlanta" in the season 15 of the show.

Since then, Lisa has been featured in dozens of media (including print magazines!), won an award, contributed to numerous local and high profile fundraising campaigns, become the international spokesperson for a non profit organization against domestic abuse (The Pledge Campaign - Against Domestic Abuse), delivered inspiring keynotes to annual symposiums and sales teams... all while growing her fitness business!

We are humbled that Lisa renewed her trust in our brand development, custom website design & development skills to spotlight her latest professional achievements in a brand new website. This bespoke website focuses on her Speaking & Coaching talents. We will soon be revealing the full website...

I am dumbfounded by the news that one of the most brilliant and inspiring business coaches I've worked with has recently been given a terminal diagnosis for the breast cancer she's been battling for months...

Rare are the people who, like Chelsea Berler, will make such a positive impact in your life. I've worked with very few business coaches, as I pick exclusively individuals for whom I have immense admiration and trust. Chelsea inspires you just that, from the minute your path crosses hers.

Back in 2014, a business coaching session with her would be personable, insightful, and generous with information. The detail I remember best about our sessions, is her soothing voice - it makes you go from stressed out and overwhelmed at the beginning of the call to calm and focused by the time you hang up. There are coaches who rush you through a call to move on to their next client - and then there is Chelsea. I had ample time to ask any and all of my business questions and also to share my fears with her (I don't do that with many people). I came out of every call with her stronger than ever.

She coached me through the technically complex and emotionally difficult process of scaling my digital marketing agency; she provided me with smart business management advice and inspired me to remain authentic in my entrepreneurial journey, no matter what. I am eternally grateful to Chelsea, for holding the space for me to make courageous decisions in my business that year. It led me to savoring an improved quality of life - and for a busy entrepreneur, this outcome alone is invaluable.

// BEHIND-THE-SCENES 💻

One of the exciting things I'm working on these days, is a web business portal 💯customized for my digital marketing agency, where I document our proprietary business systems. The goal is to complete our private clients' game-changing tech projects ( , , ) and growth projects (brand consulting) in half the time with double the clients' satisfaction... I don't do small goals! 💪

So far I'm drafting it all in Excel and Word, wrapped in the all-new + beautiful ivory & dark green visual identity that my talented graphic designer turned friend, Nik, designed for us last year. I look forward to turning these docs into a full fledged web app and introduce it to our private clients! (They are so we can't wait for their candid feedback.)

It'll be a great opportunity to learn a new programming language. Maybe , as my partner raves about it. Or it could be , which I've been curious about ever since I purchased the book 📕 'Hello Web App' (check it out at Hello Web Books). We'll see... I'll definitely share more on this 'secret' project!

My word for 2018 is "Focus". The last couple of years have been challenging on all levels and I couldn't catch a break until now. Kicking off this new year surrounded by loved ones has been a blessing. This week, I'm returning to the office to brainstorm amazing client projects and website redesign plans. I'm using colorful planners, calendars and post-it notes. Perfect way to recharge much needed creative energy!

Whether it is for a service company or a TV show, creating a strong brand takes more than meets the eye.

The first impression from a well designed and high performing website, is that it was easy and fast to produce.

In reality however, it is the norm for a compelling website to be the result of long hours of marketing research, brand development calls, iterative design tweaks, coding troubleshooting, quality assurance work and copy revisions.

Partnering with a trusted website designer and developer is key to progress confidently through this invisible and yet critical process.

(On a side note - these days, I'm falling head over heels with the classic science-fiction show, The Twilight Zone. My favorite episode so far is "To Serve Man" (you'll be shocked at the end!) But I was especially happy with the poetic script in the scenario of "The Long Morrow". Must watch!)

Recently enjoyed a productive afternoon with my consulting client and talented Bridal & Fashion MakeUp Artist Honorine Makeup Studios. The atypical decor of Le 10h10 co-working space freshly opened at rue Saint Martin kept us focused and energized. (Their delicious Earl Grey tea cups helped too.)

If you're a freelancer in Paris, you have to stop by this place! Quiet location, friendly staff and strong WiFi.

Highly recommended!

// BRANDING TIP

I'm just out of my first session in a certification program and I'm ecstatic!

We've talked about different communication styles that exist and how often what we say or don't say, what we hear or don't (want to) hear, creates either kindred connections or oppositions - this is how your brand naturally qualifies the people it will attract or turn off.

Certain communication styles are prevalent in the western culture: methodology-driven people shape our education system with its step-by-step approach (as opposed to agile environments); visionaries dominate our political scene; achievers are movers and shakers of the fitness industry, etc.

We talked about the recent U.S election and what communication style Donald Trump would represent.

We talked about the Army's style of communication, faith-based communities' leaders style of communication, and so on. More precisely, we talked about how each entity persuades you to buy into its deeply held beliefs. It is all so incredibly understated and intricate! Needless to say - my kind of conversation.

I was fascinated by the power that each communication style possesses and the finesse it actually takes each one of us to navigate with them through interpersonal relationships, day after day - especially at times of conflicts.

My mentor through this program, has over 30 years of experience in clinical psychology, behavioral assessment, individual development, and coaching - so it is very insightful to engage with a body of work that looks beyond the online marketing world and yet enriches it deeply.

I'm really excited for my brand consulting clients for the breakthroughs it'll create in their businesses!

This training gives me new validation that we are all uniquely designed and equipped to lead, empower, and provide value in the world. We don't have to settle for the status quo. We don't have to be the status quo. We just have to find ourselves.
