This project takes us back to a style that is modern even today!

Erik Spiekermann, one of the world’s foremost typographers and design thinkers, worked with experts at the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation and Adobe to turn lost letter fragments and sketches into fully functional typefaces as part of its Hidden Treasures project.

Experts have trawled the archives at the renowned German school of design, to create a series of fonts from fragments of typeface treasures by original Bauhaus students. The resulting Lost Typefaces of Bauhaus by software company Adobe can now be used by a new generation of artists
