Dutch Princess Margriet was born in Ottawa, 1943. Canada had declared the room she was born in extraterritorial ensuring she would have Dutch citizenship. After the war, the Dutch royal family sent thousands of tulip bulbs to Canada to say thank you.
& a couple years later my Opa and Oma moved to Canada and another little Margriet was born.
