[NEWS] DLR and Omnidea-RTG, part of the Omnidea Group, have built a one-metre-diameter Type V LNG tank demonstrator in CF/LM-PAEK (carbon fibre-reinforced low-melt polyaryletherketone). Developed under AMP (Automated Manufacturing Processes) in an ESA-funded collaboration, the tank is manufactured in two halves and subsequently joined using the same thermoplastic in-situ automated fibre placement (AFP) technology, rather than a separate joining process.

[NEWS] ATC Manufacturing, a supplier of thermoplastic composites, has begun work at its site in Post Falls, Idaho, on a 5,354.47 m² (57,635 sq. ft) extension, as part of a recent contract for the large-scale, high-throughput manufacture of thermoplastic composite aerospace structures for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).

[NEWS] UAE-based Strata Manufacturing and Brazilian Embraer have agreed to assess the potential supply of advanced composite aerostructures for the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer’s commercial programmes. The agreement could add Embraer to a customer portfolio that already includes major aerospace manufacturers and further expands Strata’s role in the production of composite aircraft structures.
