People always talk about the MRTT but honestly, i can't imagine that the Stratotanker will belong the history soon, a few of them have been already retired..

Since a couple of years at my home airport, i managed to catch them as soon as i could even if, sometimes, it was funky for some misses.

In May or June this year, both OC-135B (61-2670/-2672) will fly to the desert towards Davis-Monthan AFB on the boneyard ...

In May or June this year, both OC-135B (61-2670/-2672) will fly to the desert towards Davis-Monthan AFB on the boneyard for storage, maybe even worse with scrapping (or at least for some spare parts).

Indeed, the USAF operates them in an observation role, which is dedicated to Open Skies Treaty missions. The aircraft are employed by the 55th Wing's 45th Reconnaissance Squadron (RS) from Offutt AFB, Nebraska but since the United States was officially out of the Open Skies Treaty last year, the OC-135 didn't fly any openskies mission and so far, the administration didn't make clear its intention to rejoin the treaty again.

For my personal taste, i didn't count how many time that i missed them, i would say at least 20 times! But i finally made it..and it was the last time that we saw them in Europe!

→ 70-0448 C-5A USAF as a little tribute for the classics C-5A/B/C !

The last one flew to the boneyard in August 2017 and represented the end of an era...I'm still sad for not hearing again the classical whine of the TF39 during spool-up!

During that trip, it was my first attempt for a C-5. I was lucky that it was an A version 😃!

Awarded "Photographer's Choice" on Airliners.net, i must admit that it was my most difficult and surprising catch so far!

Indeed, i didn't expect that the marshaller wouldn't move during the taxi turn. Furthermore, the CJ was also very heavy due to his long trip to Africa, it took a few seconds to taxi..perfect timing!

Since no one was much interested by my best highlight's in 2020, here's the most common stuff that i made just after the New Year's Eve almost one year ago :

RMS → 82-8000 Boeing VC-25A USAF (as SAM this time due to the positioning VIP flight from Zurich)!

No fog, no heathaze due to the freezy temperature..perfect conditions for spotting 😍!
