Introducing … !🤎🌾

Louise is a self taught artist from Fraserburgh Aberdeenshire. With a college background in graphic design and photography, Louise has always loved being creative, but didn't find her true passion in painting until lockdown 2020, picking up a paintbrush for the first time since academy, merely as a way to pass the time during the pandemic.

Her abstract style is intuition based, meaning every painting is unique. Louise describes her paintings as 'energy on canvas'. Using her mood as the main inspiration and focus of her work. 🤲🏼✨

You can catch Louise's work on display during October at , as well as in Aberdeen from November onwards.

Make sure you go show some love and support !🧡

Why Supporting Small Local Businesses Is Important? 📣⬇

It has been and continues to be a difficult time for small businesses. We have the opportunity to give some extra love and support the local small businesses that make our lives better every day. Because without small businesses, we would miss out on a lot of amazing benefits...

⭐ They are important for the economy:

The money you spend at a local business is far more likely to stay in the community. The people who live and work at local businesses spend their money locally, and local businesses are also more likely than big businesses to shop locally in turn. This is also better for the environment, since sourcing locally reduces the carbon footprint of supplies, products, and produce! So local businesses put money back into the community, strengthening the local economy and helping it continue to grow.

⭐ They contribute to community identity:

Local businesses don’t only build a stronger economy — they also build a stronger community. Relationships between small businesses are important in creating a supportive, welcoming community identity, with businesses supporting each other.

⭐ They provide authenticity, originality and quality:

Small businesses have the most impact on our local communities, in terms of enriching our community by providing unique products. Most small businesses are run by people, and not by boards or stakeholders. It’s truly a reflection of the owner itself, so you get an original product that’s carefully made with a detailed eye for quality.

The bigger the production, the harder it gets to do individual quality checks!

⭐ They offer the best, personalised customer service:

People working at smaller businesses are interested in getting to know their beloved customers, who are supporting the community they serve. Most owners will be eager to answer your questions and think with you to find the best product or service for you. You, as a customer, are supporting their dream. So small businesses want every single customer to have a positive experience every time.

Our third and final INSPIRATIONAL guest speaker....

Introducing Carole from Taylor Made Refills !🌱🌏

Carole started Taylor Made Refills in October of 2019, with her first products being made in the kitchen at home, in Kintore, Aberdeenshire.

🌱 Carole had previously worked for a charity who ran a project called “Fishing for Litter”. Their mission is to reduce marine litter by working with fishermen to remove plastic from the oceans caught in their nets. It was whilst doing this job Carole experienced first hand the impacts of our collective plastic use and other single use materials on the oceans and our planet... and found it terrifying.

🌱 Carole started by making a kitchen cleaning spray made entirely of natural ingredients, and afterwards tried her hand at making foaming hand wash, both of which she started selling to friends and family locally...

Thanks to the support of returning customers and the community, Taylor Made Refills were able to take on stockists, open a workshop and a zero waste shop due to open soon! On top of all of that, Taylor Made Refills were nominated and...

WON the Scotlands Business Awards for...

THE BEST ECO FRIENDLY BUSINESS!📣🏆

📣 We can't wait for Carole to share more about her journey and any business advice she might have to share with us at the event!

MEET THE GALS 🧡

Lovely Goods ✨

We are so excited to share another stall holder at the next GALS event! Ebi from Our Lovely Goods will be showcasing her beautiful products for you to browse and buy!

A bit about Our Lovely Goods...

🍃 Ebi and Emmanuel are the founders of Our Lovely Goods.

Together they have created a life and a business that celebrates the feeling of home.

🍃 Ebi and Emmanuel believe that home should be a place where you can be completely at ease. Somewhere to shut the door on the stresses and pressures of the outside world, where it’s ok to wear pyjamas all day, eat cereal at the kitchen counter and call it dinner, and dance to your favourite track, loudly, on repeat.

🍃 Ebi and Emmanuel have both come from a culture rooted in gathering family, sharing food, good music, and a laid-back approach to life. Nigeria is the big source of inspiration, the sensory overload of colours, textures, and the unforgettable people.

Our Lovely Goods weaves together passions for home, family, and heritage. Featured in magazines like ELLE and stocked in shops like Anthropologie
