Sharing a board tonight made for the lovely Arlene who won a voucher for one of my pieces in a local business raffle.

Once we went through some options, Arlene chose a cupcake string piece as she owns a wee cupcake business in Aberdeen.

She chose a cupcake in pink and a Doric quote which seemed fitting ❤️

Sharing one of the most popular items we make tonight, the date hearts.

Often chosen for wedding or engagement gifts or just to mark meaningful dates. They can be customised to include more names, or things like wee hearts inside too, really the stretch of your imagination is the limit.

This one was finished in Hunter Green to match the bridesmaids dresses, but any colours can be chosen for the text and the heart itself, or even rainbow text would be an option too 🌈

These are 500x500 (ish) in size so a decent size to hang on any wall or sit as a decorative piece on a shelf. Sure to stand out and make a fantastic thoughtful gift.

Hoping Ava had the best first full time week at school this week.

I don’t really make these any more but for my auld Maths teacher at Banff Academy how could I say no!

In typical teacher style, I was given all the information for Ava’s likes and loves and books and what she’d like to be beautifully presented and easy for me to make into this one off board, all I did was put together a proof and chalk it…and of course it had to be Macduff Primary, and I just hate drawing that badge 🤣

Ava loves all things Gabby’s Dolls House (I had to Google this since I’m old!), and Elsa too, of course. She loves to draw and sing, even wants to be a singer when she grows up, and I’m most chuffed that she loves the Scarecrow’s Wedding book by Julia Donaldson, these were very fun to draw.

I’m sure Ava would have had an amazing week and first 3 weeks of school has flown by. Wishing her all the best of luck for her time at school, best days of your life! 🩷🫶🏼

After a wee hiatus, I'm back on social media so hoping to see plenty interaction from my followers.

I haven't been having time off the Stringing, I have been making just as many cool things here in the background, just life got a bit busy there.

Making a plan to post more regularly again, try and get some of the makes shared, along with some items I have in stock / things that would make cool Christmas presents etc.

With Valentines Day at the end of the week I knocked up a wee String board to celebrate.

Based on the statue that stands in the ‘Love Park’ in Phily it’s iconic and these boards would look great on a shelf or on a wall or even sat on a desk, don’t even need to be Valentines related.

This one is 400x400 and is £50. But if you are interested in another size, probably from about 300x300 up to 500x500 / 600x600 then I can make these up before Saturday.

Reunited at last!

Bit dramatic but after 9 days I finally got my bairnies back! Last saw them on the 31st of December. Doesn’t seem a long time, but after the week of snow and no office to go to and very little human contact, me and Bruno are happy to have them home!

We’re having a while night catching up with the Traitors. Massive sofa and everyone is huddled in this corner practically on top of me, I’m bloody roasting! 🤣

So happy be back together again 💙🩷🫶🏼

Happy New Year folks!

Better late than never but been having a really relaxing time over the festive this past 2 weeks and just enjoying some real downtime! And quality family time.

This past week we’ve had an absolute dump of snow in the North-East of Scotland so these are some photos of me and Bruno’s walkies this morning, beautiful to look at but what a pain in the ass to live with!

Anyway, I wish you all the very best for 2026, I hope we all have a happy and healthy year, I am looking forward to making many more pieces for you all and showing you all the pieces I’ve made as Christmas presents and all else throughout the year that I’ve not yet shared.

A wee (not wee at all) beauty to share tonight and a fair undertaking of a piece!

This beautiful International Case 885 tractor is the recipients pride and joy and was the ideal piece to be incorporated into one of our String & Nail designs for a very special birthday!

We played with ideas of size, but in the end it was decided a piece of 800 x 400 would work well in the space in mind and we wanted to keep it high detail and as true to the tractor as possible. It came right at a busy time for me with gigs and all else on the go so probably took a couple of weeks of hammering and stringing in the evenings and weekends to get it done, so a lot of hours but my goodness I’m chuffed with how it turned out.

To keep the detail in the lettering I used the Cricut machine to print the vinyl lettering, stuck it to some acetate, and it looks fab! Will definitely be a technique I can look to utilise in the future to keep things clear where they really matter!

Happy Birthday to the main man, I hope you loved the piece and I wish you many happy returns.
