💇🏽I did it again!

I've shaved my hair to donate and raising funds for children with cancer.

Last time I shaved my hair was 4 years ago! Admittedly my hairs thinned as I've gotten older but I'm still super happy to give the gift of my locks to children who would like it.

10+ years and I still haven't learned to spot a camera that's looking at me!

My life has changed a lot in the past 10 years, from working at London Fashion Week to attending a Leadership conference as a business owner.

One of the highlights from LFW was when I was assigned to help manage the press during the red carpet. It was very satisfying to tell them to stop shouting at the designers and celebrities and in the end everyone was happy as they all got what they wanted.

Today, I work with small businesses and charities to help them create feel good social media that represents their brand. I create bespoke social media and manage social media accounts to help businesses grow.

Thanks to all my fabulous clients, this year's been great!

These photos capture the past few years.

The first image was taken this month at .futures first Leadership Conference, with their new branding. It was an incredible day. I left feeling empowered and hopeful.

The next photo was 2024 at Pride Outsides leadership day where I did all the social media prior to the event and on the day. I still love when the memories of the day pop up on my phone.

2023 was when I first met Lou & Ellis Beardsmore (of .futures). The photo was at their 5th Pride Outside Festival where I volunteered my time to help them with social media.

Thank you Turner Syndrome Support Society (UK) for trusting me with your social media this year, I've really enjoyed the experience. It's been great to see the growth in the social media this past year. From being a little 15 year old volunteering my time after school to now having a paid contract with yourselves is something I never dreamed of. Thank you for always believing in me for the past 16+ years!

Lastly, thanks to volunteering on the People Like Us podcast has brought me so much joy. It can be quite lonely working alone all the time, so meeting up with and every month has made my life that little bit more joyful.

What an incredible second year, the best... So far!

I'm very grateful for my clients and all the support from my family and friends over the past two years.

Creating feel good social media for businesses and charities is truly my dream job.

I am so pleased to share the wonderful Glasgow University students I worked with for 9 months, got an A for their short film🤩

As a community participant, I really got to understand how powerful it is when third sector organisations have the opportunity to work with upcoming talent.

really do what they say on the tin "Removing barriers and creating opportunities through film making."

It was wonderful to learn more about and Bluevale Community Club and the work they do every day to make a difference in people's lives.

I am so unbelievably proud of all the students and their short films... I may have cried a few times at the premiere!

Thank you for the students for trusting me to be part of your dissertation journey. I have learned so much from you and it was truly beautiful to see you grow in your confidence. I can't wait to see what you create in the future.

Thank you to GMAC for supporting myself, especially during the week I was grieving the loss of two family members. The little things you do really do make a difference.

Thank you to the new .futures for putting me forward to be part of this incredible experience. I am very grateful.

What a week I've had.

I was thinking of this post in my head and thought "nah you don't need to share it no one's noticed you've been quieter."

But on the other hand I feel it's important to share the non-highlight moments.

I've had a tough week, I won't go into it but lots of changes in my life. Some small some big.

As well as exciting things happening this month ✨

But then I've injured myself like 2 times and I reckon it's because my mind is very busy.

I created a brand during lockdown called which stood for Life Of Ambika but also Law Of Attraction. This is one of my favourite images I took at Loch Lomond.

Things will always balance out in life and the calm will follow. Always remember this in business and in life 💖

As I work on some editing this afternoon, I've had a moment to reflect during my lunch break...

On the 26th of October 2023, I attended the Social Enterprise Awards Scotland 2023 with Lou Beardsmore and Ellis Beardsmore.

Pride Outside were nominated for two incredible awards, 'One to Watch' and 'Building Diversity, Inclusion, Equity & Justice' awards.

On our way to the Scottish Parliament, Lou's laptop wouldn't connect to the wifi on the train... So we ended up having an informal meeting about Social Media. As we sat on the train chit chatting the two people opposite us said among themselves "What are the chances they are going to the awards ceremony too?!"

And long story short, Ambika's Edit got her first paid client!

I was supposed to stay the night in Edinburgh but I got the train back with a very tired Ellis and Lou, who encouraged me to start my business, listened to my concerns and embraced my vision. (Ok now I'm crying).

Today, I'll be attending a volunteer celebration with them and I am so grateful ✨

I'm feeling so grateful today ✨

Social media can be a wonderful tool to help mental health if used wisely and with intention.

I was at a wedding last weekend and I didn't take many videos at all. There was a Scottish piper, Indian drummers/dhol players (I think that's how you spell it but I'm not good at typing Punjabi words in English 😂), beautiful food and incredible western and Asian outfits... it was a sea of colour! The bride and groom looked so happy and in love ✨

I love being present and mindful at personal events and love things like photo booths.

If you're having an event in the coming months of this year or next year let's chat.

It's hard to manage an event and engage with your attendees as it is without worrying about social media.

I can do this:

✅ Create content before, during and after the event
✅ Create pre-made interactive content for your stories, so those who couldn't make it feel part of it
✅ Create lasting memories that can be used in annual reports or PR
✅ Continue marketing your event, new launches, achievements after the event

There's a lot more I could list here but in my opinion most importantly, I can give you PEACE in knowing it's all sorted! Social media isn't something else you need to worry about when you have Ambika's Edit 💖
