SAGE Accounts Packages are not having a great start to Thursday. Anyone who uses their SAGE remote data services will find they are current unavailable. Apart from confirming the outage SAGE haven't really explained what's going on. You can see what the current status is here -

I'm not quite sure of the area affected but I know Plusnet, BT and possibly EE are having some broadband issues in the ST7 2 area. I've been told a fix should be in place by 4pm this afternoon.

BT has recently switched their security software provider to Norton from McAfee. Any BT customers who use their security package must switch by the 31st March 2022. You can read more about it at the link below or call us if you need any assistance.

While we are all sweltering in the heat, don't forget that your wireless router can get too hot too! Virgin has released a warning to avoid keeping their routers in direct sun. This is good advice and not just for Virgin customers! All routers do get quite warm in normal operation and keeping them out of direct sun will help extend their lives!

The company is alerting customers to the risk of overheating.

A quick warning for anyone currently using a Western Digital WD MyBook or MyBook Live network attached storage drive. Due to a vulnerability within the software, WD are recommending users to unplug them from the internet. Bugs within the code could allow someone to remotely wipe all of the data! Microsoft has finally announced Windows 10's replacement -Windows 11! All computers currently using Windows 10 and have 4GB RAM plus 64GB of hard disk space will qualify for a free upgrade!

The updated operating system has a new look and will let Android apps run on the Windows desktop.

Just a quick note for those on TalkTalk broadband. It appears that phone lines and broadband are offline right now. I've had three calls at least from people around the Alsager station area to say they are affected.

When computers make you laugh. The developers were feeling a little melodramatic when they programmed this error message. The computer hasn't fallen on the floor, how bad can it be?

I've been receiving calls over the last ten minutes with issues logging into Google accounts. It appears there is an issue accessing most Google services at the moment. Hang fire and hopefully they will get this resolved soon.
