I’ve just realised that I haven’t shown you what I do in a while. I thought as it’s raining out and I’m struggling to get into work mode that now would be the perfect time!

This is an example of one of my favourite things to do. Turn a rough set of slides into something much more stylish and useful. PowerPoint doesn’t have to be all clip art and massive text. When done properly it can be as impactful as any other marketing material.

Hello Instagram! It’s been a while hasn’t it. I’ll be honest, life and work got busy and I’ve just not had the energy to post anything. I think a lot of us are in the same boat right now.

I wanted to share these with you today as I love them so much. I was volunteered to help the PTA with the summer fete on the weekend and so decided to get stuck into my role on the creative station and came up with a few crafty little projects for the kids to make. These are little bookmarks that you pop over the corner of your page. I’ve sent ages cutting, folding, and sticking so that the kids can colour and decorate these without having to worry about getting the fiddly bits just right.

Which is your favourite!? I can’t decide!!!

As we welcome in the new tax year, I’ve taken a look back at the last twelve months. Despite being in business for more years than I can remember, last year, I set myself a revenue goal for the first time. It’s been a game changer. Having annual and monthly targets has allowed me to keep track of where I am and how I’m doing. And though I’ve not hit my target this year I am so incredibly proud of myself for doing as well as I have!

💰96.8% translate to an increase of 385% on last year! 🥳

The fact that the preceding years had been affected by maternity leave and covid among other things hasn’t diminished the pride I feel in what I’ve achieved this past year.

📝It’s now time to sit and consider my target for the next twelve months. I’m not going to rest I’m going to push for a bigger number and this year I’m going to smash it. 🎯

What a month so far!

I had all good intentions of following along with but work decided to get crazy busy and I’ve not had the time to post even half the things I wanted to.

Right now, I’m working throughout the day and night. By day I sit in my garden office and by night I work here. One of the most used bits of furniture in our house. Strange to think that this time last year it belonged to someone else and didn’t look anywhere near as nice.

Here's a little 'snippet' of inspiration for you on this cold and pretty miserable Friday evening.

A while ago I bought a collection of V&A postcards that I could reference when I needed a little burst of inspiration while sat at my desk. There are two things I love about this particular postcard, 1. the colours used, and 2. the expression of the bird. He looks more than a little p***ed off! Haha.

I'm hoping to use some of these colours in a new illustration/pattern soon so keep an eye out for that!

In the meantime, here's a little information about the design as detailed by the V&A.

Just like any good Marvel hero, I too have an origin story…

I first started my graphic design business, Tigerlilly Designs, back in March 2006 when I lived back home in Wales. I was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar… hang on, that’s not right. I was working as a designer for a print company and wanted to branch out on my own so Tigerlilly Designs became my side hustle.

When I relocated to London later that same year, my freelance graphic design business tagged along for the ride. Fast forward 17 years, another relocation, and three children later Tigerlilly Designs is still going strong.

And if you’re interested, Tigerlilly Designs was named after my cat (Tiggy for short) who in turn was named after Tigerlilly from Peter Pan!
