Some opportunities are an easy yes. 🙌🏽
I had the honour of stepping in as compère alongside the brilliant Claire Young | Speaker & Commercial Leader for the second Jenny Davis 5K event, alongside the Golden Hare Mile and the Mini Hare Run for the little ones, and it was a real privilege from start to finish. 😍
When Dave Bateson asked if I could help, I didn’t hesitate. I was genuinely honoured to be asked.
For those who don’t know, Ampthill vs Cancer is a local charity raising funds for cancer-related charities Keech Hospice and MOVE AGAINST CANCER and projects that support people in our community who have been affected by cancer. Yesterday’s event was another fantastic example of that mission in action.
There were smiles, laughter, definitely a few emotional moments and an incredible atmosphere throughout the day. 💜
But yesterday wasn’t just about the running.
It was about the support. The people. The volunteers. The sponsors. The families cheering from the sidelines. And a community coming together to make a real difference for local people.
Seeing that support again firsthand was something really special. It reminded me just how powerful a community can be when everyone pulls in the same direction.
A huge thank you to Dave, the committee and every single volunteer, sponsor and participant who made the day such a success. 💛
