I have been holding back until I’d had the opportunity to get some miles on her but nows the time to tell you all about the recent work our van has been through.
After a suspected head gasket failure I stripped the engine down, had the head and EGR cooler pressure tested to find that both the cooler was cracked and the head warped.
So after the head being skimmed I rebuilt the engine including dropping the sump and getting all the sludge out of there and a comprehensive service with
New timing belt and water pump too.
Once she was all back up and running I made the decision to get a remap, after some research there was a clear winner for me and that was Phantom Tuning.
I am so happy that I made the right choice, the customer service right from the start was brilliant and after a chat on the phone we decided to add a DPF delete as well as the EGR delete that I initially included was the best option.
So I set about deep cleaning (removing) all of the restrictive material and also removed the silencer at the same time to give a full free flowing exhaust which totally transformed the throttle response along with a K&N Filters UK filter and modified airbox.
So with her breathing right I headed off to Rochester and had the remap( base map taking it from 130bhp to about 190bhp), DPF, EGR and AdBlue deletes done too.
Now she runs amazingly well and feels effortless on the road. If you live in Kent and need ecu work done these are the people to see.
