Hey kids - here's a good one if you have a Wordpress.

See this google search result? The icon for the site is still the Wordpress logo, but the company have paid for their own domain name.

What does that tell me? Someone either forgot, or didn't know how to change it.

From past experience, I see this a lot in websites I am rebuilding.

It's symptomatic of someone who didn't know what they were doing. (If you built your own site, no judgement - but if it was a professional web designer alarm bells start to ring for me).

Suspended Google Business Profiles.... 😭

I recently reinstated a google business profile for a locksmith all the way in Wrexham. His account had been suspended, meaning noone could see his business on google maps OR his five star reviews (nightmare!)

This had happened a few times so understandably, he was feeling very exasperated by the whole situation.

Long story short we got him back in via an appeal with supporting evidence.

If you don't know Google's policies like the back of your hand, you might come-a-cropper by accidentally violating their terms. They frequently move the goalposts of whats allowed, so it happens.

If you randomly delete pages on your website they will cause a 404 error if not redirected with a 301. 404 errors make Google cry.
