Over 3.5 million people are currently living with cancer in the UK, and one in two people will experience cancer in their lifetime.

At Macmillan, we do whatever it takes to ensure that people with cancer get the best possible support when they need it most. We provide services for people living with cancer at every stage of their cancer experience, such as emotional, practical, physical, and financial support. Our online support services, such as our website, cancer forums and our Macmillan support line, provide trained advisors, including cancer information specialist nurses who provide emotional support and practical information about all aspects of cancer

In 2023, 2.3 million people were reached by our services. In Northern Ireland, Macmillan awarded over £740,000 in grants, helping people with costs associated with a cancer diagnosis, and £49,950 was awarded to people in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough. Thanks to a partnership between Macmillan and the Northern Health and Social Care Trust, a new £3.2 m cancer support centre is planned for Antrim Area Hospital.

We're 98% funded by voluntary donations, so fundraising is essential to ensure we can deliver the vital support people living with cancer need. This support is only possible thanks to everyone who has donated, fundraised, or volunteered for Macmillan Cancer Support. You are all amazing- thank you.

This one is a personal goal for me IYKYK 😂

1st 7lb lighter

Is the words of our doll Phyllis… I never expected to stay… and i can honestly tell you this comment means more than you know! Some folk love to train, some folk fall in love with training when they start and some don’t and all of the above is 💯 ok and very normal Philly was the latter of the 3 lol doesn’t particularly love walking into the gym at 6pm and doesn’t mind the walking out at 7pm 🙈😆

Phyllis doesn’t know this and probably wouldn’t agree but she really does keep everyone going when they’re struggling without even realising it. From stepping in those doors at 6pm Phyllis has banter hanging outta her in the best way possible until she leaves at 7🫶🏻

Now the plan for January to keep our doll Philly off the fire ball again IYKYK 🙄🤣🤣 work towards our summer goal 💪🏼

Albert never and i mean NEVER lands at the gym without a smile on his face a good word and buzzing to start the class!!

Albert had a bad accident a good few years ago and was told he probably wouldn’t ever move his right arm again, Albert being Albert can move his arm but with restricted move to anything overhead that being said he gives everything thats on the board ago… DB press, DB press with the left curl with the right 💪🏼burpees with 1 arm 👏🏼planks with 1 arm 😎 Albert when asked for an alternative exercise will always say “naw naw its ok il give it ago” and does it in his own way!! Think about that the next time you gurn about your burpees 🙄😂

Albert started the gym to help strengthen his arm and back didn’t really take on any diets as such just made a few changes and tried to eat better/make better choices. September he done what he was told lol and here we are 19lbs lighter! feeing better and looking great!

Now enjoy your Christmas break you earned it!

Amy’s words..

After having my kids I never properly got back to the gym it was session here and there. I needed early classes to fit with my family life and a proper meal plan to give me the boost I so needed. Since starting the gym in September I’m gaining my confidence and starting to feel like me again I can’t thank Lynda enough for that. The gym is happy place even if I do feel like I’m dying after a session 😂 the craic the people it’s just the best wee place.

Not just a brilliant weight loss for Amy the confidence since starting in September is something else!! Amy come in every 6am sees the board sometimes (most times) give me the look of death lol but always leaves with rosie cheeks and a smile 😊

Anyone dieting with kids in the house knows it can be tough especially with all the wee snacks about and lets be honest the finishing off lunches/diners because we all hate waste 😉 this is only the start for Amy and i don’t just mean weight loss!! 💪🏼

9 weeks and 3stone lighter 👏🏼🤜🏼🤛🏼💪🏼

I was nervous about joining a gym, but LWPT isn’t just a gym there a whole buzz about it a family feeling very friendly and the classes are another level. I didn’t think I would enjoy classes as much as I am but it’s a new way in my life now and the routine is great to have along with the great guidance of Lynda with nutrition this is what I was lacking but the knowledge Lynda has on this is mind blowing. I went to the JDLC for 10 months and lost 1 stone but after a short space of time 11/12 weeks with Lynda I’ve 3 stone off. After Lynda trying to kill me with burpees and shoulder presses lol am loving life. I would personally like to thank Lynda and Aidie for all they have done for me in this short space of time and I can’t wait to see what the next year brings in the gym. I’ve now got the gym bug. Also I have to say a big thanks to my amazing wife for pushing me on encouraging me and believing in me when I didn’t myself, she’s been my rock and a godsend, standing cooking all my food and making sure I’ve stuck to plan pushing me to be the best version of myself.

👆🏻this right here! This is why i LOVE what i do 🫶🏻 Lorriane and croc arrive every 6am ready to take on whatever’s waiting for them no greeting or gurning straight in and at it even with the overlord of burpees and shoulder presses 😉

From training to nutrition how you’ve changed things around for the better and now making it part of your lifestyle is second to none!! You worked your asses off (both of you) went on holidays gained (very little may i add) on a week away with cocktails pizza and chips to come back literally off the plane and into the 6am class to get back at it is nothing short of incredible (some would say insane lol) when your nail the diet and make it maintainable things like going on holidays and enjoying Christmas breaks don’t have a big impact on weight gain simple!!

Cannot wait to see what the new year brings for you pair 😎
