Something I’m fiddling with (still needs a little work) This was the original visual identity for my hometown’s very first American style shopping Mall. For a small market town in Northern Ireland this was a really big deal. It opened 50 years ago this month and is still going strong. I worked my first job in retail here and even ended up designing a lot of their advertising campaigns in the early 2000s. For the life of me, I’ll never understand why they ditched this branding though - pretty iconic stuff #1976

Something I’ve been chipping away at for almost a year now. Since last summer, I’ve been thinking about working in education. I’ve been designing and illustrating professionally for almost 30 years now, maybe I can help a fresh generation of creatives find their way to a career in the creative industries? After a ton of research and many conversations with veteran educators in Belfast and here in Bangor, I managed to secure my first post as a part-time lecturer in graphic design and illustration at our local college SERC (South Eastern Regional College). I began work at the end of 2025 and have really enjoyed advising students and watching some real talent grow and progress this year. The college is a 5 minute walk from Hand Drawn Creative and I’m able to keep my business running while I learn the ropes of teaching at SERC. So far, I’m really enjoying it!
