Nothing quite like yellow to make me feel spring like! 🌼

Yellow is often seen as a cheerful and energetic colour, and I find it makes me feel both those things 😊

Hope you’ve got lots of lovely spring activities planned for the bank holiday weekend! Happy Easter all 🐣

She’s not wrong… but sometimes it can still feel tricky getting the words out (stylishly…!) If you’ve ever bought something that just doesn’t feel right whenever you put it on, chances are that it’s not your style personality, it’s not in a colour which works best for your complexion, or both! So what do we cover in the Signature Style Session and why?

* Style Personality - When your look reflects your personality, you will feel more comfortable and confident in your own style.

* Body Shape - When it comes to dressing your shape and proportions, it’s all about creating balance. There’s a style to suit every body shape. Knowing how to flatter yours will help you feel confident in what you wear.

* Colour - The range of colours that works best with our natural complexion. Wearing the colours that suit your skin, hair and eyes brightens your complexion, gives you a healthy glow and reduces shadows and lines

Once you own your signature style you’ll:
* Have renewed confidence in wearing what suits you best
* Understand some simple ways you can flatter your body shape
* Know what palette of colours works best with your complexion
* Shop in a more savvy way, making it easier and cheaper
* Feel confident in investing in clothes which you will wear
* Always feel comfortable in what you’re wearing, because you’ll know it’s YOU
* Feel stylish and sassy, and get lots of compliments!

It really is the gift that keeps on giving because once you know all this stuff, you can just keep referring back to it.

Feeling like a Queen 👸 in green! 💚

Went out on a lovely date night last night to Menu Gordon Jones to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary 🤩 It was totally delicious, we loved it!

I’m a big fan of green, and it’s a big part of my Autumn colour palette, but what does it signify in colour psychology?
💚 green is restful and relaxing to the eye, is calming and generates therapeutic and positive outcomes
💚 it symbolises harmony, tranquility and peace
💚 it is associated with growth and renewal, and promotes optimism, hopefulness and balance

Not a bad option then really, when celebrating a marriage and a long lasting partnership!

Had a great Signature Style Session today with a client, who has been feeling a little lost with her style since becoming a mum and juggling a busy life (she’s not alone for sure!!) One of the many topics we discussed was elevating an outfit and how it’s the little things that can sometimes make all the difference…

Switching up accessories can completely turn an outfit around, making the clothes in your wardrobe work a lot harder as they can be used in multiple occasions. Check out my example 👇 those are all the same clothes, but by using different shoes, jewellery, belts and bags the overall look is transformed!

Lots of clients can feel a bit daunted by feeling confident in their own style, it’s my job to help them understand that little changes can make all the difference, without having to add time and loads of extra effort into the process.

I’m looking forward to hearing how the little switches have helped my client today feel more confident tomorrow! 😍

As the new year has now truly kicked in (last week was just a blur of finishing off Christmas and new year’s treats, trying to remember what day the kids went back to school and wondering how the holiday went so quickly for me - tell me I’m not alone 🙏) it’s tempting to take the edge off with sales bargains…

But before you do, have a quick read of my blog on wardrobe decluttering which will help you understand:

- What you’ve already got in there that you love wearing
- What you’re not wearing but could make some fabulous outfits with
- What you’re not wearing and maybe needs to go to another home
- What’s missing…

And there’s the info you need before you got the shops - what do you actually need?? This will help you make informed choices in the shops so that ‘bargain’ is not something else that will go unworn!!

Layering up… it’s a bit chilly out isn’t it?! With winter well and truly kicked in, layering up is suddenly very important, so here’s some tips on how to go about it:

- Choose mostly thin materials, so you don’t end up looking overly bulky and you can remove items if you need to, whilst still staying warm enough
- Mix up your textures / materials to create interest
- Add in pops of colour
- Long sleeve t-shirt tops are great next to your skin and will stop you needing to wash the next layers so regularly (eg in fine knit, cotton or modal)
- Incorporate summer items in to your winter wardrobe by adding layers above or beneath
- Accessorise! I love a scarf with most outfits for adding even more warmth!

Have fun, and hope you keep nice and warm!

All ready to go for a colour and style session this morning 👍 What a great start to the week!
One of my fave sessions covering what colours suit you best, and why you like some colours more than others; style personality - how what you wear reflects who you are as a person; and body shape - learning about the styles that will best flatter your body. So much useful information to squeeze in, and so brilliant for confidence. Which is what it’s all about!!

Last day of October and not a pumpkin in sight (yet 🎃) Enjoying a little more autumnal feel to the day today, although I fear I’ll need to swap out the biker jacket with a raincoat for the compulsory trick or treating rounds tonight! (Sorry, no costumes for me 😂)

Enjoying a revival of some old(er) low waisted, boot cut jeans too… I did think about getting rid of a few pairs a few seasons back, but am glad I knew back then that they’d be back around soon enough!! Absolute favourite cut for me, I was never a fan of high waisted, I’m thrilled to have them back ‘on trend’ (caveat, I believe you should wear what suits you best anyway!)

What do you think - are low waisted boot cut your ultimate trick or a total treat??

Great article on why black isn’t always the best or right choice!

'The best colour in the whole world is the one that looks good on you' said Coco Chanel - in spite of making black ‘the’ colour, the designer knew all about the importance of wearing colours that suit.

Once you know you know what colours suit you, it’s amazing how much easier it is to look and feel great. Wearing the colours that suit your skin, hair and eyes brightens your complexion, gives you a healthy glow and reduces shadows and lines - what’s not to like?!

If you’d like to chat about colour analysis and learning more about your best colours, get in touch.

Black may be chic and sophisticated, but exploring the colour palette can be much more flattering
