Some of this might feel counterintuitive.

That's kind of the point.

After years of working with coaches and consultants on their marketing, the advice that tends to make the biggest difference is rarely the obvious stuff.

It's the things that make you stop and think. The reframes that change how you approach the whole thing.

Save this one for the next time you're overthinking a post or putting off sorting your marketing out properly.

And if you want a practical starting point, comment ROADMAP below and I'll send you my free guide to building a marketing system that works beyond referrals.

Most of the coaches and consultants I work with are putting real effort into their visibility.

Showing up. Posting consistently. Building their profile.

And then wondering why it's not turning into enquiries (especially over on LinkedIn).

The missing piece is almost always the same thing.

There's no intentional journey underneath it.

No real thought about what happens after someone finds you. How they start to trust you. What moves them from watching to reaching out.

Visibility gets you seen. But it's the journey that gets you chosen.

This is one of the things I go deep on with my clients inside Marketing Momentum, mapping out a simple, intentional path that turns visibility into enquiries without relying on referrals or luck.

If you've been showing up but not seeing it translate into enquiries, this is probably where the work needs to start.

Price goes up by £500 Thursday night. DM me MOMENTUM if you want to find out more.

Some of these might make you nod. Some might make you feel a little uncomfortable.

But these are the things I've come to believe after years of working with experienced coaches and consultants who are good at what they do, but whose marketing isn't quite working the way it should.

The common thread? Most marketing problems aren't about effort or talent. They're about having the right foundations underneath what you're already doing.

Clear message. Intentional journey. A rhythm simple enough to sustain.

Once those are in place, everything else starts to feel a lot more straightforward.

What's your hill? Drop it in the comments, I'd love to know.

📌 If any of this resonates and you've been thinking about getting your marketing properly sorted, Marketing Momentum is open now. Price goes up by £500 at the end of April. DM me MOMENTUM if you want to find out more.

The biggest myth about consistent marketing is that it requires loads of time.

It doesn't have to. It requires a system that fits around real life rather than competing with it.

These are a few of the things that actually work for me. Not perfectly, not every week, but consistently enough to matter.

If your marketing keeps falling off the list the moment client work picks up, this might be useful.

And if you want to go deeper on building a system that actually fits around your business, I'm running a free live session this Wednesday at 11am.

Link in bio, or drop me a message and I'll send it over. (It’s more LinkedIn based than Instagram based, but it’s going deeper than just platforms).

When we choose to work with someone, it’s often the intangibles that help you make a gut decision.

Whilst I can waffle on about positioning and messaging all day long, sometimes it’s as simple as liking someone, feeling a warmth, and an affinity that you can’t quite put your finger on.

And this comes from the content that opens the door a little to who you are, what you stand for and what kind of person you are.

It’s critically important for me that I get on well with my clients (and I can honestly say so far they have ALL been lovely humans!).

As much as I want to attract the right people, I definitely want to repel the wrong ones! I may not be everyone’s cup of tea - but that’s OK!

What’s your take on this?

Because, disappointingly, a brass band doesn’t start playing when your marketing starts to work. 🎺

In fact, it can almost creep up on you without you noticing; the signs are in these little moments.

If LinkedIn isn’t yet delivering any of these little moments for you (yet), I can tell you why and how to fix it.

It’s usually the sign of something a bit deeper.

I am running a live session on 22nd April to look at this in more depth, comment LIVE for more details!

I see this a lot…people holding themselves back on LinkedIn.

Not because they don’t think it works, but because Instagram feels easier. More familiar. Less exposed.

So they stay there a bit longer than they probably should.

The thing with LinkedIn is…it can feel slower to get traction, but when it does click, it’s a completely different kind of platform. More conversations, more relevant people, ore actual opportunities.

It also has a habit of revealing what’s not quite working underneath, your message, your audience, how everything connects.

That’s exactly what I’ll be looking at in this session.

If LinkedIn isn’t quite working the way you expected, this will help you understand why, and what to focus on instead.

Join me, Wednesday 22nd April, 11am. Comment ‘LinkedIn’ and I’ll send you the link, or you can find it in my bio.

I have a trick for getting things done that I’m avoiding…

I give myself a hard deadline... and then I tell everyone.

No hiding then… because I hate letting anyone else down.

And as if by magic, I figure out the steps I need to take to meet the deadline, the work gets done, however uncomfortable it may be.

I did this when I:

- launched my business
- launched my programme
- launched my course
- held my first strategy day

Most of the things that drive my business forward feel uncomfortable at the same time.

How about you? I’m genuinely interested in how you take those steps, when everything inside screams to stay in the safety zone?

This is something I help my clients with - to keep pushing boundaries, stay accountable, and show up even when it’s a bit uncomfortable. Because marketing never ends, and it’s tough to do it all alone.

📅 I have a free masterclass incoming on 16th Sept Sept called ‘Q𝟰 𝗞𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁: 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝟵𝟬-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻’. If you want to get ahead of the ‘back to school’ feeling, sign up now https://calendly.com/hive-social/kickstart-marketing-q4

Maybe it’s my age (I just turned 50).

Maybe it’s that my business just turned 3.

But my view on the summer hols has changed.

Do I want to spend the next 6 weeks sweating over Insta… no thanks.

Instead, I am turning my energy to getting some systems in place to make life easier come Sept.

This means spending less time on the Instagram hamster wheel.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a great platform, but it’s time to invest some time in moving my business forward.

The recent realisation has been that without freeing up some time, I never get to the big stuff, so I’m going to stop sweating the small stuff.

Not to mention having some proper family focus, and putting all electronics away (or really why are we bothering at all?!).

I’ll still be here over the summer, just a little less than usual.

What are you prioritising this summer? There’s no right or wrong here - in fact this view is the polar opposite of what I posted at the beginning of last summer! 🤔
