This week’s office: Belfast 📍

One of the biggest perks of running an online business is that your workspace doesn’t have to be the same four walls every day.

With Fleadh weekend bringing plenty of energy to the city, it felt like a good excuse to head up north for a few days and work from somewhere different.

A change of scenery, a laptop, and a good coffee can go a long way when you’re getting your morning work done before heading into the city.

Coffee supplied by as always when I’m home ☕🤝

Not a bad spot to get some work done.

📍 Donegal, Ireland

Starting a new series: sharing the places I’m setting up my laptop and getting work done from along the way.

Ireland (home) felt like the perfect place to kick things off.

Remote work has changed the way I feel about Ireland. You don’t always need a holiday booked to experience somewhere new.

Sometimes all you need is the freedom to take in everything Ireland has to offer. With the obvious addition of the laptop, good WiFi, and access to good coffee.

Shoutout for supplying the latter 🤝

Donegal has set the bar pretty high for the first one.

Where should Office of the Day go next?

DIGITAL NOMAD LIFE 🌴💻
Tips to make it work for you – Part 3

One thing I’ve learned about digital nomad life:

The biggest opportunities usually come from putting yourself out there.

It’s easy to arrive somewhere new, work from your laptop, and leave without ever really experiencing the place.

A few things that help me make the most of it:

🤝 Talk to people.
Whether it’s a coworking space, a local café, or an event, the conversations you have can lead to new friendships, opportunities, and ideas.

🌎 Don’t just visit places — experience them.
Try local spots, learn about the area, and spend time away from the usual tourist routes.

💻 Join communities.
Other remote workers, entrepreneurs, and creatives are often looking to connect too. You never know where one conversation can lead.

🚀 Say yes more often.
The best parts of this lifestyle usually happen outside your normal routine.

For me, being a digital nomad isn’t just about where you work.

It’s about the people you meet, the experiences you have, and the opportunities you create along the way.

What’s the best connection you’ve made while travelling?

DIGITAL NOMAD LIFE 🌴💻
Tips to make it work for you – Part 2

One thing I’ve realised is that being a digital nomad isn’t about working more or less...

It’s about working in a way that gives you the freedom to actually live life properly.

A few things that help me make it work:

🌊 Get your important work done first. It’s a lot easier to enjoy a surf , hike or cheeky waterfall dip when you’re not thinking about your inbox.

💻 Find places that make you want to open your laptop. You’d be surprised how much your environment can affect your mindset.

⏱️ Don’t try to force a 9–5. One of the biggest perks of remote work is being able to plan your day around what matters most. Your work is done when its complete not when the bell goes at 5pm!

🌍 Make the most of where you are. Whether it’s an hour in the sea catching waves, a beach walk, or trying a new coffee spot, that’s the whole point.

For me, that’s what digital nomad life is all about. Work hard, enjoy the freedom you’ve created, and do it all again tomorrow.

Digital Nomad Life – Airport tips that actually help ✈️💻 (Part 1)

Airports are one of those places that can actually become really productive once you learn how to use them properly.

Here’s what’s worked for me:

🔋 I always arrive fully charged - laptop, phone, headphones —-everything ready to go.

📶 Treat airport WiFi as a backup, not a plan.
Hotspot or mobile data keeps everything running smoothly when the airport wifi is pants.

🎧 Headphones in - chaos out.
It helps me get into work mode quickly, even in a hectic terminal.

⏳ Work in short, flexible bursts.
Airports are great for getting things done, just not long uninterrupted sessions. Not a place to be coding.

📂 Keep a simple list of tasks ready for travel time - emails, admin, planning, ideas.
Easy wins that keep things moving between flights.

Once you figure out your rhythm, airports stop being downtime and start becoming useful work time.

Part 2 coming soon 👀
