San Francisco is officially booked. 🇺🇸

I’ve been selected to attend OpenAI DevDay 2026 on the 29th off September, so flights and hotel are now sorted and I’m heading to San Francisco for the first time.

The event is being held at Fort Mason and will include technical sessions, hands-on demos and time with the OpenAI teams building the models and tools we’re all starting to use.

One thing I’m particularly interested in is OpenAIs progress towards more autonomous AI.

They have previously talked about a target of reaching an automated AI research intern around September 2026.

DevDay happens on September the 29th.

There is no confirmation they’ll unveil anything like that, but the timing makes it something worth watching.

For me, the trip is really about finding out what this technology can genuinely do for businesses.

Less hype
More useful systems
Better automation
Better software

And hopefully plenty of ideas I can bring back and put to work through Media Nerds.

First trip to San Francisco as well, so I’m looking forward to seeing a bit of the city while I’m there.

For Neurodiversity NI Diagnostic Services Ltd

We built a bespoke WordPress website designed to make private Autism,

Most service business websites don’t have a traffic problem

They have a conversion problem

A lot of websites lose enquiries because they do 3 things badly:

→ weak headline
→ poor trust signals
→ no clear next step

If someone lands on your site and can’t quickly see:

→ what you do
→ who it’s for
→ why they should trust you
→ what to do next

They'll leave

Quick fix, check your homepage and ask:

→ Does the first section clearly say what you do and where?
→ Are reviews, accreditations, or project proof visible near the top?
→ Is there one obvious call to action?

More traffic won’t save a website that makes people hesitate

Clarity always converts.

Most websites do not have a traffic problem.

They have a trust problem.

They look outdated.
They hide the value.
They make strong businesses feel smaller than they are.

That is exactly what we wanted to avoid with the new website build for IKON Aluminium Systems.

IKON does not sell generic products.

They manufacture bespoke aluminium louvre systems for architectural envelopes.
So the website had to feel technical, credible, and commercially sharp from the first click.

What we focused on:

→ clearer positioning
→ stronger visual presence
→ better structure across systems, panels, and technical content
→ a cleaner journey for architects, contractors, and specifiers
→ a site that reflects the quality of the business behind it

Too many websites in construction and industrial sectors still act like online brochures.

Static.

That is fine if you want to blend in.

It is useless if you want to win better work.

A good website should do more than look modern.

It should help the right buyer understand what you do, trust what you build, and take the next step.
