At Cognisense, we have been using our monthly omnibus survey to monitor the continuing impact of the coronavirus pandemic on our behaviours and attitudes.

We would like to take this opportunity to share the latest results from the fifth wave of our study.

Some headlines:

• Some 7 in 10 of us were likely to stick to the rules, if at Christmas time the number of guests allowed per household was restricted.
• A slighter lesser proportion had as much faith in the ability of family and friends to stick to the rules with 63% claiming their family and friends would be likely to stick to the rules.
• More of us were being careful in relation to social distancing with, fewer agreeing in October (16%), compared to September (21%) that they had become less cautious about social distancing. Younger people were more likely to agree than older people.
• When it came to hand washing and sanitising, almost a fifth (19%) agreed they had become more relaxed, again with younger people were more likely to agree than older people.
• Almost 7 in 10 (69%) were confident about their job security over the next six months.
• Almost 3 in 5 (59%) were holding back when it comes to 2021 holiday plans. At this stage, they were either undecided or not planning to take a holiday next year.
