I’m so grateful to for the opportunity to showcase Bloom at the wonderful Creators connect event in .house on Sunday! 🌷 So many gorgeous, supportive and uplifting humans in one place. I couldn’t stay for the whole thing but rumour has it that it was fabulous as usual. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 And what’s more the sun was shining for a glorious mimosa reception ☀️☀️☀️

📽️ THE STRAND CELEBRATES 90TH ANNIVERSARY WITH LAUNCH OF BOOK AND FILM AHEAD OF AUTUMN REOPENING 📽️

Northern Ireland’s only surviving 1930s picture house, the Strand, marked its 90th anniversary with the launch of a new book and premiere of a short film at a special celebratory event in the Long Gallery at Stormont last night (Tuesday 21 April).

Strands of Our Picture House Past, a richly illustrated publication funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, provides a nostalgic window into the history of the Strand as it looks towards the future and the completion of its milestone redevelopment later this year.

Compiled and edited by the Strand’s heritage officer, Rosie Hickey, the book takes readers on a journey through the Strand - and NI’s wider picture house past - to tell the story of cinema here. Personal stories, specially commissioned essays and reflections from a range of authors span over 80 pages, accompanied by images from museums, archives and cherished family collections.

🌼 KINDNESS SET TO BLOOM IN CENTRE BELFAST THIS EASTER 🌼

This Easter, visitors to can step into The Kindness Garden, a vibrant new seasonal experience designed to spread positivity and connection.
Building on the success of its Sister Season initiative, the leading shopping destination is installing a colourful kindness garden on the lower ground floor, with an enclosed seating area, providing visitors with a welcoming space to relax and reflect. 🌸🌸
There will be opportunities for visitors to get creative and share their own messages of kindness, with crafting activities, where you’ll be able to make friendship bracelets and positivity rocks.
The centre will also host a ‘Happy Hunt’, a fun trail around the centre to find hidden ‘happy eggs’. Guests may also encounter a trio of delightful characters roaming the garden including The Joy Gardener, Petal the Flower Fairy and Sunny the Bumblebee. 🐝🐝
Commenting ahead of the opening, Michelle Greeves, centre manager, Victoria Square said: “We had the most uplifting atmosphere throughout the centre during our Sister Season celebrations, and our new Kindness Garden activation and events will build on this.

A“Today the most important thing you can be is kind, and we’re proud to provide a space to encourage and promote little acts and expressions of kindness.”

Privileged to visit this absolutely stunning hotel before it opens to the public next week. What a wonderful addition to Belfast. The way this building has been sympathetically restored is unreal. Original windows, original tiling and staircase complemented with modern craftsmanship, it’s just beautiful. I can’t wait to get a lunch reservation next week!
