April 🌼 🦊

It’s been a busy old month focused mainly on writing a 25th anniversary Impact Report & a heritage project funding application. I won’t lie, they had basically the same deadline which had me under a bit of pressure, meaning a few long days, weekend working & cancelled plans. All worth it though to be able to support organisations that are making a difference in their communities 💛

I did have a wee night away in Carnlough with Stephen & Alfie last weekend in that fab sunshine and I’m so glad I was able to relax and enjoy it. I don’t have the balance figured out just yet, and maybe I never will, but those moments away (for a walk or a cocktail or with a book) are so important.

Oh and I celebrated 2 years in business 🙌🏻

March 🌼

I said back in January that my resolution was to get to Spring gently and that’s what I’ve been doing as best I can.

For me this meant prioritising the work in front of me, showing up for clients and not beating myself up for not getting through the 100 other things on my to-do list.

March/ Spring feels so much more like new year to me with flowers blooming, events being held, lighter evenings, (I won’t mention the weather). I think I’ll just take my lead from the seasons forevermore 💛

This morning I was at the Her Safety, Our Responsibility...One Year On event in east Belfast, a follow on to an End Violence Against Women & Girls event held in 2025.

We heard from a range of organisations on how they have been supporting work to end violence against women & girls locally, considered what more we as individuals and organisations could do, and discussed ideas on how to work better together as a collective.

Given the devastating statistic this week that 30 women in NI have lost their lives to violence since 2020, the importance of this work couldn’t be clearer.

It was a real privilege to have played a small part in bringing this event together, working with a great group of women 💛

Supported by Belfast City Council and hosted at Walkway Community Centre

Happy World Book Day! 📚

Ever since I was wee I have loved reading. My Mum used to take me to the library in Ahoghill on a Saturday to pick up a new book and I still enjoy a visit to Libraries NI to get my books now.

I just started this one last night 👇and if it's good I'll give the TV series a go. If you've read/ watched let me know what you think...

Thanks to the team at East Belfast Community Development Agency for having me back for Canva training this week 💛
