🥂 Celebrating with .org.uk and my fellow Mentors at NatWest HQ 🥳
Sometimes it’s important to take time to reflect on what you’ve actually achieved while you’ve been busy not noticing!
We don’t do that enough as women.
More often focussing on the jobs that didn’t get done today!
International Women’s Day was a day to reflect on our achievements and realise how far we’ve come as women in business.
And nothing makes you realise that more than becoming a mentor to other business owners needing support.
Realising just how much you can help, with so many challenges you’ve overcome, the hard decisions you’ve made, the systems you had to put into place, and the motivation you had to bring to yourself.
As someone who’s been a business owner for 18 years, I’ve experienced many ups and downs.. starting my first business, an IT Support company in 2007 along with my husband, in addition to a non-profit events company.
Then buying a local Cafe, a life long dream, after the death of my husband, and as a widow with 2 young children.
Also retraining in social media marketing strategy, and working in charity fundraising, both things I love, and starting another new business from scratch 5 years ago.
It’s fair to say I amassed quite alot of experience along the way without realising it!
Never stopping to appreciate it.
Now four years on I’ve mentored over a hundred founders, been invited to speak at numerous events, and received accredited training to mentor on the Governments Help To Grow scheme.
To be able to connect and help other business owners is my biggest achievement and favourite part of what I do, as every business is different, each business has its own story, every founder has a passion for what they do. And it’s an absolute privilege to be part of their journey, and help them grow.
If you haven’t celebrated yourself lately, now’s the time to do it!
List your achievements. Be proud of how far you’ve come ❤️
And if you find yourself needing help, guidance or support, reach out 🫶
Happy IWD2026 🎉
