😍 This week, we have been joined by 2 work experience students from Hornsea Sixth Form. They have been learning all about what we do, who we work with, the importance of good branding and marketing, and what's happening in the food industry.

This morning, we took a walk around Beverley to see what the food scene is like, what independent businesses there are, and what Yorkshire-made produce we could find.

We visited Vanessa's Deli, T C Patisserie, Rose Cottage Butchers, Poma, and finally Marks and Spencer to have a look at their branding.

Brands that we saw include Luke's Bakery, Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil, Side Oven Bakery, Guppy's Chocolates, Staal Smokehouse, Botham's of Whitby, Whitby Distillery, Raisthorpe Manor Fine Foods, Listers crisps, Snowdonia Cheese, and Lottie Shaw's.

They documented what they'd seen, then back in the office, they did a photoshoot to show off our haul of goodies 😋😋😋

Now it's time to taste test the cheesecake from T C Patisserie 😋

Oh, how the world of marketing has changed since the advent of the World Wide Web.

Many of you aren't old enough to remember a time before computers and the internet on tap, it was a simpler life.

But change happens, and we have gone from basic websites that most businesses couldn't afford to an onslaught of information 24/7. TBH, some businesses still have 20-year-old websites that do them no favours.

2026 is a whole different ballgame, especially with everyone jumping on the AI bandwagon, thinking they're a marketing genius. Homemade websites, awful AI graphics that are littered with spelling mistakes and 6-fingered people, and content with no personality.

Your logo is not your brand.

Your brand is how people recognise you, remember you, and separate you from everyone else in your industry.

The colours. The fonts. The style. The feeling.

So when it comes to branding, don’t cut corners with AI-generated logos or “someone who can do a bit of Canva”.

A professionally designed brand is created to grow with your business, work everywhere from social media to signage, and actually reflect who you are.

And unlike many AI-generated designs, you’re less likely to run into issues around originality and ownership later down the line.

If you really want to grow your business, invest in proper branding.

A few weeks ago, we launched the new website for Just Delicious. We first met Donna, the owner, at a food event at the Great Yorkshire Events Centre, where we got to sample her delicious shortbread. I'd go so far as to say it's the best shortbread I've ever tasted, especially the chocolate chunk shortbread!
