💡 Face a window, never sit with it behind you
💡 Morning light is softer and more flattering than harsh midday sun
💡 If you film in the evenings, a ring light costs under £20 and is an absolute game changer

That’s it. No fancy studio or expensive gear. Just good light and you’re most of the way there.

Over 85% of social media videos are watched on mute so if you’re not adding captions to your reels, most of your audience has absolutely no idea what you’re saying!
The good news is the Edits app can add captions automatically. Once you’ve filmed, go into your edit, find the captions tool, let it generate and then go through and check them because it doesn’t always get everything right, especially names, places or anything a bit niche to your industry!
🖤Keep your captions clean and easy to read.
🖤Position them in the lower part of the screen.
🖤We naturally start watching with our eyes at the top of the screen where your hook text sits, and then we move down. So keep your captions out of the way of that top section.
🖤And if you want to make a key word or phrase really stand out, change the colour or the size to make it pop. It draws the eye and keeps people watching for longer.
Captions aren’t a nice to have. They’re the difference between someone watching your whole video or scrolling straight past without a clue what you were saying.

Start in your notes. I use Google Keep but whatever works for you is fine.

Type out your script or the key the points you want to say.

Copy them.

Open up Edits, start a new project, tap the teleprompter icon, paste your notes in, adjust the scroll speed until it feels natural and press record.
