Look what arrived in the post!

My copy of 'Don't talk to about Motorcycles' written by Sue Towner.

I’m so pleased to see her book now printed and brought to life with my illustrations.

These mini stories first began over 30 years ago, and it was such a privilege to have the opportunity to create digital sketches to complement some of them. Having never illustrated a motorcycle before, this project definitely pushed me outside my comfort zone, but I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.

It’s a great reminder that we really can do anything we set our minds to, sometimes we just need to adapt, learn something new, and give it a go! 😊

If you’re an author looking for illustrations or book cover design support, feel free to get in touch. I would love to hear about your project.

I recently designed the poster and social media graphics for James Church's Cabaret Night, featuring West End star Summer Strallen, coming up soon at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts.

When it comes to event artwork, layout is so important. A poster needs to do more than simply look nice. It needs to quickly communicate the key information, create atmosphere, guide the eye, and encourage people to find out more.

From the headline and performer details through to the date, ticket information and booking details, every element needs to have its place. Good design helps the audience understand the event at a glance, while still feeling polished, professional and on brand.

This promises to be a fantastic evening of entertainment, so if you would like to go along, book online now to avoid disappointment.

If you have an upcoming event and need eye-catching artwork designed for posters, flyers or social media, I would be happy to help.

First impressions matter, especially online.

It is often said that people form an impression within the first 7 seconds, which means your social media visuals need to work quickly.

Before someone reads your caption, clicks your profile, or finds out more about what you do, they have already started forming an opinion based on how your brand looks.

That is why creating a consistent set of social media graphics can make such a difference.

Using your brand colours, fonts, imagery and visual style helps your business look more professional, recognisable and trustworthy. It also helps you connect with the right audience, because your visuals should reflect the personality and values of your business.

Whether you want to appear friendly and approachable, bold and confident, calm and professional, or creative and modern, your graphics should help communicate that at a glance.

A strong set of branded social media graphics can help you:

• Create a consistent look across your posts
• Make your business more recognisable
• Build trust with your audience
• Save time when creating content
• Make your social media feel more polished and professional

Your social media does not need to be complicated, but it does need to feel like you.

If your posts are looking a little mismatched or no longer reflect your business, it may be time to refresh your social media graphics.

Colour can bring a logo to life, add personality and help make a brand feel more memorable, but it should never be used to disguise underlying problems.

"If something is not good in black, it won't be good in another colour."
- Anton Stankowski

A logo needs to work first in black and white. If the shape, balance, spacing, typography or overall concept does not feel strong without colour, adding a beautiful colour palette will not fix the foundation.

This logo created for Louise Crowe Creative Ltd is a good example of why a logo should be tested in both colour and black and white, making sure the design still feels clear, balanced and recognisable across different backgrounds and uses.

The same applies to illustration, layouts and wider design work too. Colour can enhance what is already working, but it cannot rescue something that feels unclear, cluttered or unbalanced.

If the black and white version of your logo does not feel strong, readable and recognisable, colour will only decorate the problem, not solve it.

Thinking about refreshing your logo or brand visuals? Get in touch and let’s create something that works beautifully, with or without colour.

Brochures are a powerful way to showcase your products and services, giving potential clients something tangible to connect with your brand.

I was asked by Cutting Edge Joinery based in Hampshire to design a modern, high-end brochure tailored to a luxury market. The goal was to present their craftsmanship, services, and attention to detail in a way that truly reflects the quality of their work.

Each page has been carefully designed to be clear, engaging, and easy to follow. The layout balances striking visuals with just the right amount of text, keeping it informative without overwhelming the reader. A consistent style runs throughout, with subtle variations on each page to keep it visually interesting and professional.

To finish, I created a clean, easy-to-understand infographic that walks potential clients through their process from concept to completion.

If you’re looking to elevate your brand with a professionally designed brochure that attracts the right clients and communicates your value clearly, I would love to hear more.

When you work with a designer, it’s not just about making things look nice, it’s about making them work.

Having already worked with Steph, a Mannatech representative, I was able to keep everything consistent while evolving the design for a more impactful event presence.

✔️ Clear, easy to read layouts
✔️ Strong brand consistency across all materials
✔️ Creative touches like the lemon theme that feel intentional, not random
✔️ Information presented without overwhelming the audience

I also created postcard leaflets and posters alongside the pull up banner, ensuring everything worked together seamlessly and communicated the information clearly and confidently.

Thank you Steph. I really enjoyed creating this for you, and it was great to hear the event went well with lots of enquiries on the day.

Professional design helps you stand out, build trust and get your message across instantly.

It’s always great when a plan comes together 🙌

Louis from Contact Carpentry needed some promotional materials to showcase his bespoke garden rooms, including all the key details of what each package includes. He had all the content ready, but wasn’t sure how to lay it out in a way that looked clear, professional and attractive to potential clients… and that’s where I can help.

Having worked with him before, I created an 8-page colour leaflet using his information and branding, bringing everything together into a clean, engaging design.

Now printed and ready to go, with copies on display and a digital version to share with potential clients.

We often focus on what we learn… but not how or why we learn.

This quote from Brian Herbert are such a powerful reminder that learning isn’t just one thing.

The capacity to learn is something we’re all given.
The ability to learn is something we build over time.
But the willingness to learn… that’s entirely up to us.

That last part is where growth really happens.

Whether it’s in business, creativity, or everyday life. Staying open, curious, and willing to learn is what keeps us moving forward.

And sometimes, that simple choice makes all the difference.

It’s not every day you get the opportunity to visit a client and see the artwork you have created for them, especially when they are in Northumberland.

So lovely to see visit the Rocking Horse Cafe & Gallery and see how the design makes a difference to a business, and also see how scenic another part of the country is.

Standing next to the signage and branding in person really brings it all to life. What started as ideas on screen is now proudly part of their business, and it’s always such a rewarding moment to see your work out in the real world. ✨
