What. A. Year.
As 2025 draws to a close, I just want to take a moment of reflection on this incredible journey I’ve had since stepping fully into self-employment and launching SK Services.
It hasn’t been easy. It’s been a whirlwind of figuring things out, saying yes before I felt ready, juggling a million plates, and learning to back myself and keep pushing when it really mattered. But if there’s one thing I know for sure... it’s that it was absolutely the right decision.
Walking away from toxic environments and companies that didn’t value their people to finally do work I love, in the way that feels right, with people and industries I genuinely care about - has been nothing short of life-changing.
SK Services is built around three branches that all feed into my passions and purpose:
✨ Kizomba Wirral with Sal K
🎨 Creative Edge with Sal K
📚 SK Development
Each one has developed this year in its own way and I’m so proud of what’s already been achieved.
🎨Creative Edge with Sal K has also seen growth this year and I’ve had the pleasure of supporting a range of businesses and events through creative design. From logos and branding strategies, to event visuals, promo materials, flyers, social media assets, product labels and more.
Highlights include my ongoing work with Rebel SBK Events creating party night flyers, supporting the Saffie Rose Foundation with impactful charity visuals, branded merchandise, my working relationship with Mersey Prints ensuring I can get quality printing of my designs for my clients, creating promotional and print design for Make It Happen and community projects, as well as other creations for start-up and those wishing to re-brand and refresh.
Each project has been a chance to pour in personality and purpose, and I’m grateful to every single client who’s trusted me to bring their vision to life. I look forward to doing more in the coming years.
Being freelance can be incredibly isolating at times. There’s no blueprint, no guaranteed paycheck, no one to hand things off to. But I’ve had the most amazing people around me, and that makes all the difference.
Through all of this, having the support of my family and close friends has been simply incredible. Whether it’s promoting my work, showing up to events, backing my community work, or just being a constant reminder that I can do this... their belief in me has helped carry me forward. I’m endlessly grateful.
This is just the beginning. I’m walking into 2026 with purpose, gratitude, and excitement. I look forward to strengthening the connections I’ve made, watching new ones flourish, and embracing the new opportunities that lie ahead.
To everyone who’s supported, shared, hired, recommended, worked with or simply believed in me — Thank You!!
🎄Wishing you all a Merry Christmas filled with love, calm, warmth and good food… and a 2026 filled with possibility, purpose and people who lift you up.
