Facebook Ads Vs Google Ads
What are some of the differences?
1. Targeting
🔹️Facebook ads and Google ads ultimately catch different types of potential customers. Facebook holds a crazy amount of data about all of us, which allows marketers to hyper-target people with specific interests or who fit a certain demographic.
🔸️Google ads on the other hand allow us to target users who are already searching for a specific term on Google.
2. Content
🔹️Facebook ads allow us to provide a lot more information via video or image content. This gives us a much wider range of options when deciding on our campaigns and allows us to tell a story. This also means they can be more complex or time consuming to make!
🔸️Google ads are primarily text based, usually featuring as web-link results at the top of the search engine results page (SERP) or business listing results at the top of the Google My Business map, and are generally less time-consuming to set up.
3. Active Vs Passive Audience
🔹️With Facebook ads, viewers usually come across your ad when scrolling through their feed. They aren't actively searching for your content, so the ad NEEDS to be eye-catching and attention-grabbing.
🔸️With Google ads, your viewers are specifically searching for the term you are advertising for. Whilst this has its benefits, we must remember that in the SERP the viewer is also comparing your result with all of your competitors too... so you best make sure you have a good offer to entice them!
