We hit 50 Google reviews this week 🎉

A huge thank you to the lovely Charlie Bishop at Macbeth Insurance Brokers & Macbeth Financial Services for pushing us over the line.

In all honesty, reviews matter hugely to us.

Let’s face it, a lot of people have had bad experiences with agencies. So when potential clients are researching who to work with, reviews become an important layer of validation alongside a strong brand, good work and a professional website.

For us, the best projects always come from partnerships built on trust, openness and genuinely caring about the outcome. So reading great feedback from clients never gets old.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to leave us a review over the years.

We genuinely appreciate every single one ❤️

It’s Sibling Day… so a nod to the duo behind PLOTT 👩‍👦

15 years in business together now - which either says a lot about our resilience… or our ability to ignore each other when needed.

Running a business with your sibling isn’t always straightforward. There’s honesty (sometimes brutal), a shared history you can’t escape, and a level of trust you don’t really get anywhere else.

But that’s also the strength of it. We challenge each other, back each other, and ultimately want the same thing - to build something we’re proud of.

And yes… like any siblings, we still drive each other mad 🤪

If you’ve got a brother or sister, you’ll get it.

If you haven’t - Rich is still open to offers. 🤣

Evolve or die 🐟 🦎 🐁 🚶🏻

Woah easy there Darwin! That's quite a spicy opening for a Thursday morning.

Yes, yes it is. But today is Charles Darwin's 217th birthday 🎂

That's a lot of candles. We're gonna need a bigger cake.

But what's interesting about Darwin's big idea is how it perfectly describes the nature of businesses and brands, as well as animals.

Think of some of the most famous brands, McDonald's, Nike, Jaguar ... pick whoever you like. Well, they've always had the same Golden Arches, switch and leaping Jag, right?

Nope. Look at these iconic brands over the years and you'll see them evolve.

It's not an empty metaphor. Standing still was never an option. Businesses must literally evolve their brands to stay alive.

There are many reasons why evolution is a good idea. Change of ownership, business maturity, or changing client expectations. We’ve helped loads of brands modernise to appeal to modern clients — take a peak at our carousel 👀

Staying relevant and successful means looking at your market as it is today, this very moment. What's happening?

Are there changes that affect your clients? Have people's needs changed? Has the way they search changed?

So, does your brand help you compete in today’s market and address the needs of your clients?

If the answer's no, you need to evolve.

DM or connect if you want more like this, or if it's also your 217th birthday.

Print isn’t dead.

But it has been declared dead several times by people who wanna sell you digital things.

And digital communication has become faster, cheaper and more disposable. All good things. Meanwhile print retains its unique tactile feel ✋

That it's used less these days makes it all the more memorable.

So we're shining a light on the Love Paper 🌳

Because PLOTT loves print. But, quick aside… it's important, bear with us.

Print isn’t the environmental villain made out to be. Even sending an email has a carbon footprint of about a gram.

✉️ And how many useless emails do we all get? So...

We only specify FSC-certified paper, which means it comes from forests managed to protect biodiversity, ecosystems and workers’ rights. All audited by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

Digital is brilliant. We use it every day.

But print still has an important role to play.

So yes, this week we’re celebrating paper 🎉

Which is very much not dead.

Want to see some cool artwork that's been 100% made by humans?

Of course you do. It's a palette cleanser for your eyes. The antidote to the AI generated stuff that seems suddenly everywhere.

Long, long-time client Fogtrap asked us for something special. Their brand includes a superhero character, The Interceptor 🦸‍♂️. Nik Rogers from Fogtrap asked us this.

"What if The Interceptor had his own comic strip?"

It would be brilliant, that's what.

The comic strip is a cool item, but it’s much more than that. It introduces the concept in a playful way, the polar opposite of a dry technical manual. It can be used as an advert, or as a handout at events – you can bet no one else will have anything similar.

A brief like that gives a creative agency two options, but only one choice.

Option 1️⃣
Ask Midjourney, ChatGPT, Google Banana Nano 🍌, etc to generate a strip, refine as much as the system allows and use that. Then hope no one notices or cares that it's AI 🤖

Option 2️⃣
Put in some bloody effort 💪 and make something cool the old fashioned way.

Well, this is PLOTT for goodness sake. Creatives first, and (mostly) human. So it's no choice at all. Bloody effort it is.

From concept, scriptwriting, storyboarding and sketching (by hand no less). That's human creativity at work. BTW, time for a shout out to our talented, human, artist, Sabina Gran.

The end result has all our personality, silliness and skill compressed to a comic strip. We're really quite fond of it.

That's a real emotion, and it wasn't generated by a robot.

It was made by people.
