Want to see some cool artwork that's been 100% made by humans?
Of course you do. It's a palette cleanser for your eyes. The antidote to the AI generated stuff that seems suddenly everywhere.
Long, long-time client Fogtrap asked us for something special. Their brand includes a superhero character, The Interceptor 🦸♂️. Nik Rogers from Fogtrap asked us this.
"What if The Interceptor had his own comic strip?"
It would be brilliant, that's what.
The comic strip is a cool item, but it’s much more than that. It introduces the concept in a playful way, the polar opposite of a dry technical manual. It can be used as an advert, or as a handout at events – you can bet no one else will have anything similar.
A brief like that gives a creative agency two options, but only one choice.
Option 1️⃣
Ask Midjourney, ChatGPT, Google Banana Nano 🍌, etc to generate a strip, refine as much as the system allows and use that. Then hope no one notices or cares that it's AI 🤖
Option 2️⃣
Put in some bloody effort 💪 and make something cool the old fashioned way.
Well, this is PLOTT for goodness sake. Creatives first, and (mostly) human. So it's no choice at all. Bloody effort it is.
From concept, scriptwriting, storyboarding and sketching (by hand no less). That's human creativity at work. BTW, time for a shout out to our talented, human, artist, Sabina Gran.
The end result has all our personality, silliness and skill compressed to a comic strip. We're really quite fond of it.
That's a real emotion, and it wasn't generated by a robot.
It was made by people.
