A Birmingham web design and digital agency is celebrating after its work in supporting other businesses across the UK was recognised at the National

29/05/2020

𝗪𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴! (Full Job Description in Comments)

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to do meaningful & impactful work with one of the UK’s most sought after and growing Website Development & Digital Marketing agencies.

We’re looking for an ambitious, switched-on self-starter that understands that marketing is the driver of all successful business and that everything else is subservient to it.

Someone organised that pays attention to the small details and thrives off of creating success. If that’s you, then you’ll love this role.

You’ll be working predominantly remotely. Your day to day will involve communicating with and delivering excellent work for our clients who are themselves switched-on, smart and ambitious entrepreneurs, business owners and managers. This is done by taking the sole responsibility for ensuring that the small but powerful DGM team are allocating their time, skills and resources effectively, on-time and to a high standard. You will be an outstandingly confident and personable communicator that is comfortable speaking to others in-person, on Zoom, over the phone or through email.

The right candidate will...

𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧

𝙗𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 but still keen to learn about marketing in the real world (it’s not always the same as the stuff you might have been taught)

𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙣 𝘼-𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧 that loves taking responsibility, making decisions and performing at a high level

𝙗𝙚 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩 (you don’t need to be a coder or computer hacker but you need to be adept at using a computer and common software applications)

You’ll probably already know what makes for a good website, marketing copy or have some broad knowledge of how SEO and Google Ads work. If you already know your way around WordPress, Divi, Google Analytics, LinkedIn etc that’s a great start too.

We don’t expect you to know it all straight away, but we do want someone who is enthusiastic, credible and that can hit the ground running. Someone who asks the right questions and rapidly gains the knowledge to deliver work the DGM way.

We’re looking for someone that wants to grow with us, someone eager to learn and make an impact, so your attitude and creativity are way more important than your experience to date but you’ll have some impressive stories to tell us that illustrate why we should invest in you – as opposed to all the other applicants who apply.

𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀
We’re looking for a full-time Digital Marketing Project Manager doing 30-40 hours per week.

You’ll have to be available for client and internal planning meetings which are generally held during UK office hours Mon-Fri | 9am-5pm. Outside of your commitments to any scheduled meetings, you can work whatever hours you choose, so long as the work gets done.

You won’t routinely be expected to be available outside of usual office hours but we would expect some degree of flexibility (e.g. an early start or late finish) should it be required on occasion. This makes this an excellent position for anyone that values flexibility.

𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Important: This is a remote role so there’s no commuting time or cost, but you are expected to have a distraction and background-noise free place to work. We do have a small office in the heart of Birmingham's creative quarter at the Custard Factory which you may need to attend from time to time for team building or planning days. You may also need to attend off-site training or visit clients in person.

𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘆
£20,000 - £24,000pa (dependant on experience) + bonuses (dependent on performance)

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮
Whilst we’re a small and remote team, we’re not a naive, or “wet behind the ears” agency. We’ve been running since 2008 and have been responsible for creating hundreds of websites and digital marketing campaigns for a growing group of great UK based customers that value our thorough, trustworthy and no BS approach to creating successful outcomes for them. These outcomes include best-in-class websites, increased enquiries from better calibre customers, and sustained increases in revenue.

You’ll be working closely with the company directors James & Danny which will give you access to some of the best knowledge, experience & expertise in digital marketing.

We treat our clients, colleagues and suppliers with a great deal of respect and whilst we take our work very seriously and expect a lot from one another, we are light-hearted and keep perspective on what it is and isn’t important in life.

For the right person, this is the opportunity of a lifetime and it will shape your career and future trajectory forever as there is a genuine opportunity here to get world-class experience, help us to elevate our well-established agency and enjoy the benefits that will result in doing so.

Your first chance to show us what you’re made of will be how you respond and apply. If instant rejection is what you’re after then just send your CV. If not… please send an email to [email protected] along with a short video telling us exactly why you’d make our dream Digital Marketing Project Manager.

Absolutely over the moon to be announced as one of 11 finalists in the Best Business Enabler category at the National Entrepreneur awards. The most competitive category at the Entrepreneurs Circle National Entrepreneur Awards.

Congratulations to the other nominees, we're amongst some esteemed company and I look forward to seeing the winner announced later this month and presented with their award by David Walliams

This is a reshare from Cody Butler...

"Interesting fact:

50% of people who inquire about a product or service will buy that product within 18 months...From somebody!

Only 15% of those WHO WILL BUY, buy within the first 90 days.

If you don't have a long term engagement and nurture strategy, you're leaving 85% of available revenue for somebody else.

Understanding and acting on this is the key to long term stability in a business.

It's a compounding effect.

Most people remain in chaos and never move to stability because they literally have no vehicle to access 85% of the buyers in the market.

It's one of the main reasons wealth is concentrated in only a few hands...it's simply the fact only a very small minority plays the long game.

0-90 day strategy will pay bills

90-560 day strategy will create wealth and stability."

As you may have noticed, we're trying to show and document more and more of the wins we're creating for our customers and here's one for today. As usual, we've blurred out anything sensitive to protect our client, but hopefully, these show you behind the curtains of a digital marketing campaign and help to demystify it a bit. What you can see here is an enquiry for machinery that is worth 6 figures+ and it comes from a serious buyer. Ultimately the enquiry was generated through Google Ads and the following shows the sequence of events...

1: The prospect searched for a relatively competitive keyword.

2: We knew to target this keyword because of our competitor and keyword research.

3: Our Ad was approved by Google and appeared at the top of the page as it's deemed the most relevant to the prospect's search.

4: The prospect likes the look of the ad as it's relevant and highlights exactly what they're looking for so the click it and end up on the most relevant landing page.

5: The landing page provides value but also highlights of areas of interest on the website which the prospect looks through.

6: Note that the prospect looks a couple of our client's "Who We Work With" pages. These pages are built based on our customer research and their objective is to speak the prospect's language and address their pain points with valid solutions which they clearly did as it's at this point that the prospect feels comfortable enough to get in touch.

7: They fill in the well placed and GDPR compliant contact form, and agree to ongoing marketing so that we documented permission to promote our client's products and services to the prospect on an ongoing basis.

8: Our client is notified of the enquiry immediately and follows up.

9: Our client is privy to what the prospect has been looking at on the website and how long they spent looking at it which can go quite some way to indicating what their level of interest is.

This is all pretty straightforward, but again this doesn't happen by accident it has all been designed and goes beyond simply running Google Ads. Taking the time to understand potential buyers, their habits online, what competitors are doing at the outset enabled us to build a website worthy of traffic and that converts.

If you're not getting enquiries like this on a daily basis in your business, let us help you fix that. E-mail me at [email protected] or leave a message in the comments

If you've spoken to us you'll know that we're big fans of a book called "They Ask You Answer". In short, the book explores the importance of creating authentic, trustworthy content that people actually want to see, as opposed to biased self-indulgent propaganda about how wonderful your business is. Not only does it win the trust of users, but it can also be great for your SEO and web traffic as evidenced in this image.

This image is showing how a humble blog post has sent over 5000 users to our client's website over the last 3 months because it appears in search results tens of thousands of times for a multitude of search queries around a specific topic.

It's not rocket science. The client is simply sharing their expertise on a particular subject and Google is rewarding them for doing so. As highlighted in the image, this kind of thing isn't often easily achieved with your website's home page which for many multi-faceted businesses has to serve as many things to many users, but with your blogs, knowledge centre or FAQs sections you can drill down into the detail and become hyper-relevant on whatever it is you do as a business. You should make a plan to answer the questions potential customers are really searching for online and make sure they see your content. Do it well and you will be rewarded.

If you'd like to understand more about how you can implement this yourself, get in touch (leave a comment, email me on [email protected] etc) and I can show you how to plan for this and implement it effectively.

This is a screengrab (which I've blurred for obvious reasons) showing a tracked call that DGM generated for one of our clients this afternoon.

These come through all the time, but it just dawned on me that we don't share this sort of thing enough and having just listened to the call (with our client's permission of course) I wanted to share as much of it with you as I can as a lot of business owners still don't realise that these tools and insights are available. This is just a brief snapshot.

The call has come from one of the world's most famous brands and they're serious about spending serious money (5 figures) with our client on a regular basis.

The chap from the famous brand had searched on Google for a solution to his problem and saw one of the ads that we created for our client which sent him to the webpage most relevant to his enquiry. He subsequently called our client and had a good chat about options and the next steps have been agreed on. Our client was quick to provide real value in that call and educate the prospect on his options, ultimately considering something he hadn't thought of initially. The specifics of all of this are apparent and measurable, there's no guesswork here and we can attribute this 5 figure enquiry call to a specific Google Ad campaign, keyword and spend (this particular click cost them less than £2).

There's more to it than just Google Ads. Behind this rhythmic customer acquisition system that generates enquiries like this regularly is a solid well designed website with great content that helps users to trust and understand our client's value proposition, call tracking, analytics, a CRM for logging the enquiry (what's it worth, what's the next step, where did the enquiry come from etc) and a world-class follow-up procedure to ensure our client wow's their customer beyond the initial enquiry.

Once they complete the work, there are systems in place to make sure that it's as easy as possible to get a positive review from their customer, maintaining and solidifying their position online as the most loved and trusted company in their industry.

If you'd like to experience the buzz of creating and implementing a system that generates high-quality enquiries from the exact people you need to be speaking to, leave a message in the comments and I can get in touch to discuss replicating this for you.
