England opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge has been named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for June 2026 following her outstanding performances during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
Wyatt-Hodge played a pivotal role in England’s journey to the World Cup final, finishing as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with a record-breaking 302 runs. She beat Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce and India spinner Sree Charani to claim the monthly honour, marking her second ICC Women’s Player of the Month award after previously winning it in November 2024.
Expressing her delight after receiving the award, Wyatt-Hodge said:
“I’m delighted to win the ICC Player of the Month award, especially since it came for performances at a World Cup on home soil.
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup was a fantastic occasion for the game, and having the opportunity to play in the final at Lord’s is a memory that my teammates and I will cherish forever.”
During June, Wyatt-Hodge amassed 287 runs in six matches, including five appearances in the T20 World Cup. She averaged an impressive 71.75 while striking at 151.85, making her one of the standout batters of the month.
Her campaign began with a sensational unbeaten 105 against Sri Lanka, helping England post 219, the joint-highest total of the tournament. She followed it up with a match-winning 65 against the West Indies and an unbeaten 89 against defending champions New Zealand, guiding England into the knockout stage.
Wyatt-Hodge also rewrote the record books by becoming the highest run-scorer in a single edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, surpassing Beth Mooney’s previous record of 259 runs, set in 2020. She further became the first player to cross the 300-run mark in a single Women’s T20 World Cup, finishing with 302 runs.
The award recognizes Wyatt-Hodge’s remarkable consistency and match-winning contributions, cementing her status as one of the world’s premier T20 batters and highlighting her exceptional World Cup campaign for England.
