Happy New Year 2025!
As I reflect on my year helping people in the hospitality industry, I want to start this year by sharing a message with the amazing individuals I have supported over the years. Many of you have needed encouragement as you work towards bigger goals. With this message, I hope to inspire you to think and act in new ways. Please read, share, and like.
The Unshaken Maverick Voice, by Emanuel M Popa
Stop waiting for people to "get" you. They won’t. And that’s not your problem. Your purpose is not to fit neatly into someone else's understanding of the world. You are a puzzle piece cut from a different design, one that others may struggle to place. That’s fine. Your value isn’t determined by their comprehension.
Do not, under any circumstance, expect others to vouch for you. Why should they? Most people are too busy minding their own insecurities or chasing their own validation to champion your cause. So, stop looking outward for approval or allies. Mind your business, build your dreams, and let your results do the talking.
And while we're at it, stop craving validation from those less qualified than you. Why would you let someone with no map tell you how to navigate your journey? Their opinions, rooted in fear, limitation, or ignorance, hold no weight. Seek counsel from those who’ve walked the path you admire—or better yet, blaze your own trail entirely.
Silence the noise of the naysayers and critics, especially those who lack the results you desire in life. Would you take financial advice from someone drowning in debt? Relationship advice from someone bitter and alone? Of course not. The only voices worth heeding are those backed by wisdom, experience, and success.
And above all, stop doubting your capacity for greatness. The spark of brilliance already lies within you. It’s not a question of whether you have what it takes—it’s a question of whether you have the courage to unleash it. You are capable of extraordinary things, but greatness demands belief, focus, and relentless action.
So, keep your eyes forward, your head high, and your heart resilient. You owe it to yourself to be unapologetically you.
