TEMPORARY CLOSURE NOTICE:

This is a message from Gemma's parents regarding her business Smallfry Productions. Unfortunately Gemma had an accident a number of weeks ago which has required her to have an operation. She has been in a lot of pain and is unable to use her dominant hand, wrist and lower arm which means she is not currently able to work. She is very upset about everything and is doing her best to recover as quickly as possible but for now she needs to heal. Please be patient if you are waiting to hear from her and she will get back to you when she is ready to do so.

Mr & Mrs Furmage - Happy "One Week-aversary" πŸ₯³

A week ago today Luke and Jessie tied the knot, it was touch and go whether the wedding would go ahead due to coronavirus (and it's not often we have three dates booked in the diary for one couple's wedding) but they managed to get married on their preferred date against all odds!

A wedding post-lockdown was an interesting one, there were masks, meal deals for the wedding breakfast and hand sanitiser, but the day was still as beautiful as any other wedding and filled with lots of laughter and happiness, something which we think the happy couple will be enjoying lots of in the years to come.

Thank you again for choosing to include us in the people allowed to attend your special day, here's a sneak peek of what's to come from your photos of the day πŸ’πŸ’•

⭐️ Teen Mom UK

The next series of Teen Mom UK starts tonight at 8pm on MTV!

This show follows the stories of four young mothers and their journeys as parents, my role for this series was a "Runner" or "Production Assistant". I worked on the show around Birmingham helping with things such as setting up lighting, getting contributor consent forms signed, putting up signage and looking after one of the mothers.

A couple of photography related things you can do to pass the time during isolation:

πŸ“· Sort through your old printed photographs and put them into albums.

This is a task a lot of us have avoided doing for a long time, myself included, so either order yourself some nice new albums or use the empty ones you have in the cupboard next to the pile of prints (you know who you are) and get archiving!

If you find any prints which are damaged whilst you're sorting, then you can put them to one side and get in touch with us if you'd like to get them restored πŸ–Ό

πŸ“· Sort through your online photos and screenshots.

If you're like me and you take lots of pictures and screenshots, your phone gallery might look a bit chaotic.

Google Photos is a great way to sort out your digital galleries. With Google Photos you can easily sort through and categorise your photos into virtual albums by pressing and holding to select images, pressing the "+" option which appears and then selecting "Album".
This will then automatically create a new album with the photos you selected and allow you to name it.
You can also use the "Manage your library" section in the settings to help get rid of any screenshots or photos which Google thinks may not be of any use to you.

Whilst you're looking through your digital photos you might come across some pictures which you haven't printed out yet but you'd like to. It's important to have digital copies of your photos because prints can get damaged or lost, but it's also important to print them out too because digital files can go corrupt.
So just a quick reminder; we can print out your snaps using our in studio photographic printers at the standard 6"x4" album size and get them to you within the week. If you'd like to order your prints in bulk then drop us a message and I'm sure we can sort out a discount for you! πŸ“±

πŸ“· Back up your digital photos.

Once you've sorted through your digitals, I highly suggest you back them up at the very least once but preferably twice. Having copies of your digital photos is really important, if you only have one copy of a digital photo and it goes corrupt then it's pretty much impossible to get that copy back.

For the ease of mind of our clients, we have up to three copies made of our photo and video files on a mixture of both physical hard drives and online drives, but we always advise our clients back their files up too! πŸ’»

What to watch? πŸ–₯

It might seem like there's nothing new to watch on TV at the moment with everything that's going on. The TV schedules have gone a bit crazy due to sports and soaps being cancelled, but I can assure you there are at least three new TV programmes to watch this week, two tonight and one tomorrow!

How do I know? Well, I worked on them!

So kick back and tune in...

⭐ Great British Menu:

Series 15 of GBM starts tonight at 8pm on BBC TWO.

This series focuses on the chefs creating dishes which follow the theme of children's literature. Given the sad news that the Bournville BookFest for Schools programme will not be running this week, this might be a good alternative to get your literature fix with a twist!
My role on this show was a "Shooting Camera Assistant", I travelled to Manchester, York and Bath to film three of the chefs who will be competing this year πŸ‘©β€πŸ³

⭐ How To Look Good Naked:

Episode 3 of Gok Wan's HTLGN airs tonight at 9pm on REALLY.

This show is a real feel good show, so many people struggle with self love in this day and age. By showing the ladies how to dress and that real bodies come in all shapes and sizes, Gok helps them to learn how to love themselves.
My role in this was a "Runner", sometimes known as a "Production Assistant", the role was based at the Bullring in Birmingham for the catwalk shows.
As a runner your job is to keep the production running as smoothly as possibl. Amongst other things (including being made to dance *badly* on stage) I looked after some of the contributors who star in the show and helped the crew with moving and setting up equipment. ♀️

⭐ The Station - Trouble on the Tracks:

Episode 2 of The Station: Trouble on the Tracks airs tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV.

On this show I was a "Runner" which formed into a "Camera Assistant" role. During the show's filming I helped carry equipment, set up microphones, get consent forms signed, change lenses, prep equipment and fix parts of the cameras when necessary (again, amongst other things). It was a very fast paced role, based mainly at Birmingham New Street station but we also ventured to Manchester, Wolverhampton and some other areas.
If you're into trains and or documentaries then please do have a watch! πŸš‰

Do those much loved prints of yours need some TLC? We can help!

Photo restoration can either be done remotely by sending us a scan of your print, or by bringing your prints to us in Bournville/ posting them to us where we can scan them professionally at a high resolution and preserve the quality of the image too.

In addition to our restoration services, we also provide printing with our in house printing service. That means you can also get a new copy of your restored photo printed to treasure for many more years to come.
