Happy International Women’s Day! 🩷

Today we are celebrating the everyday facts that make BBJ&K who we are.

We are a female-founded business. 60% of our directors are women. Our female Deputy MD helps lead the way and more than 80% of our apprentices over the past decade have been women, because we invest in the next generation too.

In an industry where just 30.7% of agency directors are women, we are proud to be doing things differently.

We celebrate women every day. International Women’s Day just gives us a great excuse to shout about it!

Apprenticeships are a powerful route into media and advertising, combining real, hands-on experience with recognised industry qualifications and clear career progression from day one. 
 
Across BBJ&K, we’re seeing the impact firsthand, from new apprentices who have joined us in recent months to team members who began their apprenticeship journey with us years ago and are still thriving here today. Fifty million adults across the UK are tuning into radio every week, collectively consuming over 1 billion hours of content, according to the latest RAJAR Q4 2025 release.
 
Key highlights from RAJAR Q4 2025:
 
- 50.0M weekly listeners, reaching 86% of UK adults
- 1.015 billion hours of radio consumed each week
- 75% of listening is now digital
- 44M adults tune in via digital platforms weekly
- 20.3 hours average listening per person, per week
 
Audience behaviour continues to evolve, with listening steadily shifting away from traditional platforms. Online listening has climbed to a record 29.8%, while smart speakers now represent 18.5% of total radio listening hours, rising to 22.2% for commercial radio.
 
Radio remains a mass-reach medium, but increasingly a digital-first one.
